Also having the same issue here only with BF4.
Stock clocks everything is fine. Overclock and sound cuts in and out when playing BF4. Just like OP. Been using Ryzen Master so I may give BIOS overclocking a shot and see if it helps.
OS is up to date and patched as is the game.

I was wrong.
It's my power supply that is producing the noise. Didn't do it with my GTX570 but it sure makes a lot of noise with this R9.
Good to know it isn't the video card at least.
Just got a brand new r9 290 msi card from newegg.
It has noticeable coil whine when in bf4. How common is this problem? What are the chances a replacement would have the same issue?
