Its a better reference card compared to Nvidias reference cards, but compared to the Nvidia aftermarket cards i think most people will choose Nvidia even at £100-£200 more expensive with all the nice overclocks if they want the best performance.
AMD really needed it to beat 980Ti by 5-10% and...
I think it would be in AMD's interest to seed all the tech review sites with these new chips/rebrands with water the cooled GPU as a base for their new reference coolers as this will allow them to look a lot better compared to the very bad stock R9 290 coolers that many sites still use to...
All gamers should be standing together and condmening this sort of practice.
Just think about if this happens. Lets say next year the top 5 AAA games are all Intel sponsored and run like crap on AMD & Nvidia GPU's and they cant be optomised for, Ill bet there would be a massive uproar against...

Here are links to reviews of both the coolers you are looking at. I know the MSI one is a 290X but it uses the same cooler on...
Yeah AMD needs to be more efficient but we will see if they are aiming for more efficiency with their 300 series then we will get a clearer picture how i competes with maxwell.
I don't think we will see any excellent excellent APU's from AMD until 2016 with the new stuff they have planned...
Yes it wont help them with everything like dx 9/10/11 but it atleast sets them off for a fair fight against intel in the future when more games do use DX12. I really dont see Nvidia having much discrete presence in future in laptops & Mobiles. Even though they are doing exceptionally well the...
I agree here too AMD benefits much more from the low end stuff than intel does. If its a choice between an AMD APU and an Intel CPU/IGP for a gaming rig then DX12/Vulkan takes the CPU performance out of the equation AMD GPU wins.
I think it was pretty obvious from the start which direction mantle was heading.
Mantle reincarnated as 2 new API's achieves 2 things for AMD that they couldnt ever achieve as Mantle alone
1) Larger TAM for AMD to target its CPU/APU/GPUs with Vulkan available in mobile platforms and O.S...
I have a pretty poor i7 5820k when it comes to overclocking. Fitted it with a NH-D15 and it manages 4.0Ghz easily. Idles at 18DegC on lowest fan speed its silent and it maxes at 73degC @1.2V
I think one could be some custom server chip and the other is for a gaming device. I would guess the ARM device is the server part and the x86 is for a gaming device since the last 2 x86 parts were consoles, but i could be miles off.
I think he meant to write "Huddy Hates G-Sync".
Becuase saying Huddy Hates Free-Sync when his own company endorses it dosent make sense if he wants to continue working for AMD.
I installed it and dont really have any problems with it. Sometimes i optimise games and it still tells me i need to optimise games etc. Some games i have installed it wont detect or let me add manually and sometimes it keeps telling me to update my drivers which are upto date but apart from...
Nice to see products are finally on the horizon. I hope more are announced soon as i have been holding off for a good new monitor with frame sync abilities for an AMD card :)
Yeah defo a dud, i cant get 4.3GHz without hitting TJmax gave up at 1.3V :( But its still a big upgrade over my i7 860 :) So im happy and i have had fun playing around overclocking it.
Im using the F8C aswell but on a Gaming 5.
My pc suffers from the crash loop bug if i plug a ext HDD into a USB3 slot.
The new Bios fixed it for the USB front panel but the back usb slots still causes an infinite crash loop.
Apart from that its been rock solid.
I think my i7 5820K is...
Looks like the silicon lottery was good to you :) The H110 cooler seems to be doing its job very well. They are nice temps.
Im using a noctua NH-D15 and im hitting Mid 80s at 1.215V on my i7 5820k during LinX and it wont go over 4.1GHz without temps & voltage sky rocketing :( Not tried gaming...
Pretty sensible settings and good overclock adam.
I think i will probably settle on 4.1GHz aswell.
I just dont have the watercooling setup needed to remove the heat that higher voltage and frequencies generate on Haswell-E.
Is it possible to enable a higher turbo multiplier on single/dual...
Yesterday my Tj Max was 94degC according to core temp, why does it say 118DegC now?
Anyone any ideas?
I have changed some stuff in the bios but surely that wont affect Tj max?
I got my system built lastnight but had some rebooting problems.
System was solid when in windows but kept getting stuck in a reeboot cycle anytime i restarted the pc rebooting before i could get into the bios.
I think i sorted it with a bios update.
This was on the gigabyte X99 gaming 5 at...
My i7 5820K is due to arrive today, so once i finish work i shall get it built and have a go at overclocking and see how it compares to these i7 5960X with 2cores disabled.
I have went with the Gigabyte Gamer G1 so hoping i dont have the same issue's as adams first G1 board had. So fingers...
I can understand why Nvidia engineers downplay mantle since its a competitors product. They clearly know the advantages a low level api provides.
Im sure if it wasnt soo heavily tied to AMD, then Nvidia would be quite happy to jump on board mantle since msft has been so slow at developing dx...
No AMD has stated mantle is OPEN to everyone including nvidia and intel, as soon as its released from beta.
They are not excluding them, its just they were not in the initial list open beta testers.
Unless you have a source claiming otherwise?
And the advantage is you don't have to...
