Effect of temperature on ICs

In general, what major effects do increasing/decreasing temperatures have on integrated circuits? Since the conductivity of semiconductors increases with temperature...does this allow circuits to operate faster at higher temperatures? What other effects are there? Thanks

Who's been to Vegas before?

I know the legal age for gambling in Las Vegas is 21 (I'm a few months away from turning 21), but how strict are they? Do they actually card you? Or do you just walk into the Casino and start gambling, and as long as you don't look like a teenager you won't get stopped? Thanks!

Main advantages to using C/C++ for device drivers?

Hi, What are the main reasons for using C (or C++) for writing things like device drivers and even operating systems. Why not use something like Java? (I'm not saying we should use Java, but I'm just wondering why C/C++ are mainly used) Thanks!

What if M2 comes out of reset (and say the bus is not in use) and does not know the status of the bus. Does it wait until it sees a STOP condition before trying to gain ownership? That would mean it would have to wait until some other device uses the bus first, which would prevent M2 from ever...

Thanks! that clears up a lot of confusion but is there a certain type of certification i should be looking for? or can the seller take the car to any mechanic and get it certified? what if the mechanic is a friend of the seller and fibs on the certification? Thanks again
