Q6600 G0 hotter than B3?

What a bunch of hayseeds.... - read same Intel processor documentation and determined G0 stepping would be cooler, consume less power, therefore, generate less heat, assuming same clock, hardware, etc. - from my tests, comparing QX6700 B3 and Q6700 G0: (power: 302watts vs. 269watts)...

graysky, - nope - have tried a few times, but have concluded MBM5 with CoreTemp plugin changes temp sensor channels, where OCCT can't seem to find them - OCCT does track and graphically log voltages, with most of the popular monitor programs

graysky, - I see the same asymmetric temperature deltas across my cores too - see pictures 50~53, which show loaded temps, both core and processor, CPU core usage, along with application generating load - if you compare core usage against core temps, you can see core temps align with core...

P5B Deluxe or P5W DH Deluxe?

another vote for P5WDH - have been using one since Jul 06, with various Core and Core2 processors, settling on QX6700 QUAD at mild overclock of 3.0G. - decision points for me were a) 975 vs 965 and b) native Intel PATA port for optical drives. - never personally used a P5B Deluxe, but have a...

Skott, Thanks for the feedback, but need an ultra-stable platform for work purposes. - did have it up to 320 FSB for a few "play" hours, without issues - might try 330 next weekend - bummer is, it takes me at least 8hrs of stress testing at new FSB's to get confident of stability

Don't know, but I went the other way, upgraded from E6600 to E6700. - to get better FSB/MEM ratios - lapped it, eh? - give it a go on eBay - or I'll trade ya straight, for my E6600 retail, FPO L624A783 and $100 USD, for your "lapped" E6700.... (teehee)
