I have SBL 5.1 card and Win Me.
Anyway to get the dos drivers to work?
I have booted the machine with the WinMe startup disc and tried to run sbeinit.com. It won't load.
Says: "problem with config file, SBport...."
Is anybody using the drivers successfully?
What file dos the dos...
My previous system was a dual boot win95 and dos.
I used to run older dos based games under dos using dosshell, and they ran great.
I just wanted to do the same thing.
Is it possible?
I have a dual boot system with WinMe and Dos 6.2.
Dos drivers won't install.
Would like to get sound under pure Dos.
Is this a lost cause?
Thanks,
I am trying to setup MSDOS 6 on a P3 800eb system with 128K ram. Windows is not installed.
So far I have gotten Dosshell, the Mouse, and the CDroms all working.
However when I run memmaker the system locks up. It also locks up if I put
device=c:\dos\emm386.exe noems in my config.sys file...
Apparently there are dos drivers on the SBL installation disc.
I was unable to get them to install using win me, when I contacted Creative tech support they told me the drivers would not load from the CD under Winme as winme had no native dos support. They thought they might work with win 98...
Just upgraded to a new system from dual boot win 95/Dos 6 system to WinMe.
I set up a dual boot system with WinMe/dos but found out MsDos will not recognize my SBL 5.1 card. Creative told me that dos does not recognize any PCI based cards. My new system does not have any ISA slots.
I want to...
I now have the exact same setup...
One strange thing though, if I try to play an audio cd through the CDRW connected to the aux input on the SBL I have to bring up the mixer each time and activate the aux input by clicking on the small button under the aux slider.
Get a promise ata66 controller card for $25 which gives you 4 more IDE ports. I have one and it works perfectly with no bootup delay. Best to have the HD on it's own IDE port.
If you get raid card I believe you will have 8 IDE ports.
Just figured out that the reason I wasn't getting CD audio to play from any of my three CDRoms was because I used an audio splitter cable. It connected two of the drives audio outs to one of the inputs on my SBL card.
The other drive had a separate cable to the aux input on the SBL, but still...
I need the DOS drivers for this card. I am unable to get them to install form my install disc.
If you have them installed under: c:\program files\creative\sblive\dosdrv could you please email me the driver files:
sbeinit.com,sbecfg.exe,sbemixer.exe,sbeset.exe etc
Thank you!
I am trying...
I have the Gamer 5.1 card and am unable to get the dos drivers to
unpack/load from the installation disc. They are on the install disc as cab files but will not copy to a directory with any of the install procedures on the disc.
Can someone send me the drivers, or explain how to install the...
WinMe is working fine except when I try to use restart under the the shutdown function. The screen turns black with a blinking white cursor then I eventually get a blue screen error message.
If I reset WinMe reloads fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks
My audio CD's only play through the Windows Media Player (WinMe).
When I try to play through the Creative or ATI or Winamp player there is no
sound, although the player is showing the song playing.
The song files on the CD are listed as winamp media file types.
How can I play through the...
Which one do you recommend for a new homebuilt system?
I have the Cambridge DTT 2500 speakers which I understand don't interface well with the SBL card. (Which burns my butt since I just bought them 6 months ago in anticipation of a rebuild)
I purchased the SBL 5.1 card but have not installed...
I deleted a few programs and now Win ME is running in extreme slow motion. About one tenth normal speed and the HD is being accessed almost constantly, like a problem accessing the memory or swap file.
I tried System Restore and reloaded the OS without success.
Virtual memory setting still on...
It's not the end of the world if the drive cannot read subchannel data.
They all can write subchannel...
Your CDROM or DVD may well very well read subchannel data. Read any disc with CloneCD and check the subchannel boxes. It will tell you immediately if the drive reads subchannel.
If not...
Will a Supermicro 750A tower case support future P4 MBs or be adaptable?
I don't want to spend the extra money for this case if it will
be obsolete in a year or two...
Thanks
