Linux People!! Help me (Seti)

ooops! forgot to mention that (stupid crack! hehe .. :)) the rc.d files are like the autoexec.bat of does.. it starts things automatically when the computer is started.. in slackware, rc.local is typically where you put stuff like that, and when you boot, the shell script is run, and voila...

someone should probably give instructions on how to edit the rc.d files... on slackware, that I run, you would edit the /etc/rd.c/rc.local file you could do this with an editor such as pico by doing (as root): pico /etc/rc.d/rc.local then just add the filename to the end of the file, such...

lets devolope a seti crack rack

The easiest way to do diskless Seti i think is as follows: 1) Klinux, but with support for NFS or SAMBA. 2) Server with space on a big hard drive for each client computer. Mount the network drive on boot, and run Seti. Seems pretty easy to me.. :)

Ocing K6-2's?

I have a k6-2 350 in my webserver (plug - http://www.beerpalace.org). It's running at 460 (115*4) no problem. Running linux, and dnetc OGR (100% CPU usage). I've had it up to 540 (120*4.5) at 3.2 volts, which is very very high, and hot. As for CPU coolers, just about anything will work. You...

i know all about the regular distributed.net pproxy configuration, but i need information on the advanced features. first off, what is the line to turn on the advanced configuration features? second off, how do i configure the pproxy to hold data, but still update from the keyserver (for OGR)...

Whats a good benchmark score for Rc5 for an 1.2ghz @ 100 fsb.

Just thought that I would answer some questions... ScienceWhiz: I disagree about the money DanC has. That should be used to recruit people, rather than just buy parts for a crackrack. I agree somewhat as well. People donated that money for advertising, not building a crack rack.. kmmatney...

that is the advantage of miniteams.. you dont really need to customize at all. no need for individual e-mail addresses, etc., and you could create a downloadable pre-configured client.. what we need is a "newbie miniteam".. (of course eventually they wouldnt be newbies, but.. ;))

keep up the nice work people!.. seems like so far just in this thread we have an extra 7 or 8 TNodes a day! It doesn't take one person with lots of computers, it takes lots of people with one computer!
