Thanks to the OP on this one I would have probably missed this Now I have an RPG to look forward to and to keep me busy till Dragon Age Inquisition comes out. I already have Risen 1 and 2 so well worth grabbing the third and having the trilogy thus far.
PCIe 2.0 should not be an issue for SLI in x8 x8 but since your board is x16 x4 and only supports Xfire you need a new board or just stick to single GPU and hold out till you upgrade again.
That said any Z77 board with sli support should prove good enough most of the boards perform similarly...
I guess its a good thing I run NVIDIA. I did run AMD for awhile but the frame drops / runt frames made me switch. But considering I upgrade with each GPU cycle just for kicks Ill have to keep making informed purchasing decisions. I figure if the Next Total War game uses mantle or DX12 and offers...
6gb is worthless at 1080p if your buying a new monitor thats ultra wide in the future and if its closer to 2 years away you will be nearly 3 GPU generations back at which point the 6gb 780 will be slower and the extra memory wont make the difference.
Only a few games need more than 3gb and then...

you can use styrofoam cooler or plastic cooler etc. tried it myself worked pretty well for keeping my office temp acceptable
EA they have a few good franchises but their ignorance and delusion keeps them spiralling around the edge of the drain in terms of me buying anything from them. I am just thankful they don't have Metal Gear as a franchise. Its sad to think that i am more thankful for the games EA doesn't get...

I really gotta get one of those chips 4.5 at 70C give or take is pretty nice. Would make for a great low cost gaming system toss it in an SFF case or something. I agree with Techhog though wish my 4770k would stay at those temps at that speed I miss the days of Sandy Bridge already.
