Do you really need those red washers to install a motherboard?

No,evidently they are not important because they are not supplied with the mobo,they sometimes come with a new case though.I never use them and have had 0 problems.the screw and standoffs do not touch anything that can short anyway and for thier use to be effective,you would have to use one on...

MSI K7T Turbo!

Don't know bout the MSI Raid/Promise controller but my Raid is disabled in the bios and does not take up an IRQ.I have also read about Two versions of the Turbo,and i believe they have been waiting to see how other manufacturer's boards performed,so they could make a board that would bench...

Try.......Hkey current user\software\mirabilis\icq\default prefs, modify the value "auto update" to "No"and then delete the partner file in C:\programs\ICQ.........before you go online,after fresh install,this should not allow ICQ to load these updates. LMK what...

MSI-6195 k7pro freezes on sleep mode.

This is what has been called"The Never Ending Sleep" in windows.Sleep/Standby is generally a bad idea, PCs for Dummies and other sources have confirmed this,probably not your mobo's fault.

Found it on Duron and T-bird up to 1 gig at the AMD site but no 1.2.I know at default ,my bios says 1.89 and this has some degree of variation,but i still want solid information on what the specs are..........any links?

ICQ SMS! Banner showed up today...what is it and how do I get rid of it?!?!?!

All ya have to do is restore the Partner file from the Recycle Bin and change the reg setting back to yes,if you want it back.I wouldn't call getting rid of an unused/annoying feature"Hacking".It's not like your system is dependant on ICQ,unless that is all you use it for.

Is there anyway I can install IE 5 without connecting to the internet?

Sounds like you need to configure your DNS and LAN properties/addresses/domain,What is your operating system? IE 5 is included with Win 98 SE and can be installed from the setup on the disk.

Here is how........go to C:\programs\ICQ and delete the file named "partner" and then Run regedit\edit\find(mirabilis)expand to ICQ\DefaultPrefs and modify AutoUpdate to the value "No". That's it..........Bye Bye SMS:D

Easy CD Creator compatibility with Win 2000.

I have found that Autorun gives errors,if it is enabled in Win2k it will try to run the CD as it is being recorded,giving an error and a coaster.

Do the new Abit board still have occasional 5 sec. freezes with GF2 card?

Never saw any such problem on either of these boards,more than likely it is the video driver and/or settings.6.34 to 6.47 beta detonators work great,the driver that came with the card was not as stable.

Why won't Win2k install from DOS?

When i boot from floppy then format and go to E:setup,it says cannot run from DOS,the 2000 Cd is recognised on E: and does have setup.exe in the DIR.What's going on here,it did install Win 98 SE in that procedure a little while ago, so i don't know.
