I'm 75/20/5 Hubitat/ST/Wink. When I can get the Lutron Bridge Pro to connect (refuses to talk to the Lutron servers), I'll move everything, but a Power Pivot, off Wink to Hubitat. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk

Just put my order in, so awaiting shipment. I hope the webCoRE migration makes sense (I know it won't be easy). To start, I'll probably just add some devices that have been on the shelf and see how it goes. Please keep us in the loop on your transition.

https://community.smartthings.com/t/hampton-bay-zigbee-fan-controller/47463 Take a look at this. It's mounted in the fan canopy and can control 4 fan speeds plus a light. I control two fans (one module per fan) via SmartThings but it's also supposed to be compatible with Wink. Home Depot...

I have found just the opposite. There is NO device I have wanted for which there was not a device handler for SmartThings. Just off the top of my head, some of the more "exotic" that I've implemented: Honeywell Vista alarm panel fully integrated with SmartThings, homemade $70 irrigation...

Need help configuring an LTE hotspot to feed wired network

Hello, please take mercy on me as I am not very fluent in network-speak. I have an existing - fairly typical - home network for which I want to add a backup internet source using a cell hotspot. To start, I would purchase a hotspot (with data plan) just for this purpose that would provide a...

For ST backup, there is a (albeit, convoluted) way coming that will allow backup, but very non-standard and imperfect. Use webCoRE for your automations (when released). Then all the pistons can be backed-up.

The Samsung SmartThings home automation thread

I've had a Wink v1 running alongside ST for more than a year. No problems whatsoever. I have little need for them to talk to each other, but IFTTT does the job when I do need it. GE Links are more trouble than they're worth. But I moved the three that I have to ST. They work - sort of...

I have blink cameras, but I was using the alternate DTH from Kevin Laframboise. All I need is the ability for ST to enable/disable individual cameras, which that handler did just fine for me (with CoRE). I'd be content if the IFTTT integration from Blink would allow individual camera control...

@IndyColtsFan As a veteran, and a casualty, of the presence-sensing wars, I can attest to how frustrating it can be. Applicable only to Android, take a look at the Tasker solution posted in the ST Community by "destructure00". It gives a detailed recipe that I have implemented with tremendous...

Some random comments... I actually use the Wink Hub to directly control my Caseta switches via ST-IFTTT. All of these consumer-grade HA products have to be considered a hobby. Given the hundreds (probably thousands) of hours I spend playing with this, I couldn't possibly justify it based upon...

I've migrated everything but my Caseta switches to SmartThings; end even those I control with ST via IFTTT. The IFTTT "bridge" has been surprisingly reliable and quick enough. No matter how great the new Wink Hub is, I don't see it doing anything to open the architecture to community-developed...

IndyColtsFan has been very fair in his evaluation of Wink, and SmartThings for that matter. If you were comparing only products supported by each company - and I have and use both - then my opinion would be that they are about equal. Where Wink suffers, horribly in my opinion, is that its...

SmartThings is perfect for me (huge emphasis on the "for me" part). I'm not up to developing code, but I'm willing and able to dive in and leverage (i.e. steal) other people's work to implement solutions that work for me. The caveat is that I do think the average consumer would be overwhelmed -...

I don't get the business model that allows Flex to succeed with Wink. My guess is, six months ago, they had no choice, in a desperate attempt to recoup their outstanding accounts receivable. Going forward, where's the revenue? Hardware margins aren't enough and Samsung/Amazon/et'al deep...

I have been holding back because I don't want to be a naysayer about Wink on a Wink forum, but the SmartThings user community is awesome, with a capital A W E S O M E ! ST itself is no better than Wink, but ST facilitates community devices and apps, such that amazing creations come from the...

Wink, until Flextronic shuts down the web service, is basically relegated to a timer for my Lutron switches. Everything else is ST. The ST Community is amazing at providing drivers and apps. If you have to be spoon-fed, ST may not be for you, but the user ecosystem is beyond anything Wink has/had.

While waiting for delivery of my v2, I've whiled away too many hours browsing the ST community. I'm definitely suffering from the "grass is greener" syndrome, so take it FWIW, but I really love the flexibility that a gung-ho community offers. With Wink, I'm completely dependent upon an...

Nice summary. I had many of the same criteria, but with six months' of Wink experience, I'm headed towards SST (on order). I have concerns about Lutron Clear Connect support, but I'm gambling it will come in time; or find an acceptable coexistence with Wink for that functionality.

Yup, ordered the discounted kit on Day 2 for $99. Just a side note: it's refreshing to see reasonable, as in $0, shipping charges - always struck me the wrong way that Wink wanted $14 for a single small device. I've gotten no information from ST about an expected ship date, hence looking for...

I have nothing to add to the Lutron debate except to voice support for everything that's been said. Pico remotes are super easy to implement 3-way or 4-way or N-way switches. No neutral is a big differentiator. It's the only device that I've found to be solid with Wink. Everytime, with a...

Ditto. I pre-ordered figuring it was a small price to pay to seriously study both tracks. My main problem with Wink (besides its utter dependency on rock-solid end-to-end internet service) is a lack of generic Z-Wave compatibility, which I hope :fingerscrossed is better with ST. I have a lot of hope placed in the prospect of STv2, so it pains me to be critical... but, at least to this point in time, it is the quintessential vaporware. Almost no talk about it in the community. If it were a smaller company than Samsung, I'd have to say it's never coming. The classic...

This isn't going to be much - or any - help, but I have an Intermatic PE653/5043 Z-Wave controller. I haven't found the courage or time to pair it to my Wink. Getting to your first question, I have had such horrible failure on simple generic Z-Wave sensors and switches that I'm not ready to...

Any thoughts on the Kickstarter "iblinds"? The short video shows a Wink box. Super early bird pricing is $59 for a Z-Wave tilt motor powered by a Li-Ion battery. Compared to the industry today, $59 is dirt cheap, but it's still more than I want to pay for every blind in my house.

Kaido- I recall you had a preference for toggle switches (vs. the flat decora style).
