Temperature too high on Athlon 2500+ with Zalman?

bump - Seems to me I need better thermal grease as well. I already have 3 fans in the case (1 rear and 2 up front). What do you guys recommend for removing the old thermal grease?

I have the <FONT size=2>Zalman CNPS6000, not overcloked in a Lian Li "quiet" case. The airflow is not that great....</FONT>

Strange and recently acquired video freezing....

Hey, I have a couple of questions for you: Is the system being overclocked. If so, how? I imagine you tried a lower clock setting, but, if not, try that. The video card can become damaged (in my experience) from overcloking and may become more sensetive. Also, is there anything that you have...

PCMCIA USB adapter question

BIOS does not detect HD or CD-ROM

ATA 33 (33 mb/s) is an older standard. Current standard is ATA66 ATA 100 is the newest comer (available on boards like Asus A7V) I would check your HD specs to see what the default transfer rate is

Zip Drive Click Death

On a side note: I am completely not impressed with the quality of the Iomega Zip drives. I have had the "clicking" problem. A couple of days ago my brand new ZIP 250 died.... and by the looks of it the built was "crap"

Help with rig!

LOL. You'll hate me for saying this but I think this is a case of wanting too much ;). Personally I think that computer games are ridiculous for this reason. I mean, I have Mech 4 actually slow down on my Athlon 1 Ghz.

Possible temperature problem?

It does seem a bit high. Not unheard of though. Make sure you use thermal paste from a tube and not the stick on stuff. Sometimes the stick on stuff can become an insulator. Also: How are you measuring this temperature. If it's a hardware sensor make sure the wire is not between the CPU and the...

Peculiar. Are you able to find the CD ROm through the hardware wizard search? Also, are both IDE channels enabled in the BIOS and in windows system properties (under hard disk controllers) Have you tried seting up the CD-Rom as a slave or doing an autodetect setting Also, I am wondering...

Problem w/ NERO

I don't know what the problem is but here is a bump. My first hinch would be to go to nero's website and check the common problem database and then proceed to e-mailing them.

Windows 98SE does not shut down properly!!

I would recommend updating to the latest BIOS. The problem might be with the power managment setting in your BIOS not being properly "identified" by Windows...

Can you give me more info? Is the CD-ROM recognized by DOS, slaved correctly, do you have the MSCDEX drivers correctly installed, is it recognized by windows?

HP CD-burner: when it starts, computer reboots. Help?

Computer rebooting might be attributed to insufficient power. CD-RW are notorious for power drainage and it would make sense to see a computer restart when the burner is trying to read/write (i.e using the most energy it can) I would replace the power supply. regards, peter
