Hmmmm never owned a amd card before how do they go against the GTX 970? I've seen comparison and benchmark results that the 970 surpasses the 290x in overall performance,but I've also heard good reviews about it and also bad about AMD cards.

Ok so I switched the ram. I also reseated my cpu ( pain in the ass due to liquid cooler) I left the first slot empty and moved the ram to fill the third slot that was empty before.
Its now back to 11.9 usable...

how do you exactly screen shot on windows 8.1? I remember on windows 7 i can always do a prnt screen but doesn't work for win 8.1 sorry about all this problems man just so frustrating. I guess i am not alone on this. I've seen many crosshair v owners suffering the same issues all over the web.
As for slot locations. From the cpu is on the left and ram slots on the right.
1st slot is filled, second slot is filled, third slot is empty and 4th slot is filled.
I also noticed that on cpuz the the module size for the 1st slot is only at 512mb as oppose to the other slots are full 4096mb
Ok after transferring everything to my pc. My pc is still stuck at 7.90gb usable out of 12gb. I tried loading defaults settings in bios and still at 7.90gb usable.
