I got mine in Ann Arbor, and they also substituted with the Microadvantage.
I got the rebate receipt, but can't find the rebate! Does anyone know where I can download it from?
thanks!
For those who doesn't have Micro Center (like me in Michigan),
Amazon has the same deal.. $69.99 - $20.00 rebate = $49.99
I think there are some coupons going around to.. an extra $5 off? at least no tax or shipping.

I finally got my FIRST(!) laptop :) the 2650
P4, 1.6, 512mb memmory, 15", 20 gig, normal cd - rom. $1340 after shipping, tax, and rebate.
only thing more i would have liked to have is a cd-burner .. oh well.
have to call AMEX to make sure i get my extra...
Rossman, yeah your right. Dell only offer 3 years, but the cheapest 3 year warranty is like $275 (estimated) extra from the 1 year warranty.
Amex website says to call to see what's the plan (i'll do that tonight)
btw, here is what i bought - total price after rebate & tax - $1340
Dell 2650...
That good.. I bought the laptop on Saturday, and chose only the 1 year option. However, I was thinking that since i'm using my Amex blue, then i should get another year of warranty.
anyways, any suggestions as to wether or not i should get the 2 or 3 year warranty?
thanks!

If you use Amex,
don't you get 2 years warranty if you choose the 1 year option? I thought AMEX was suppose to double the warranty up to a certain amount.
any ideas?
I know that the warranty is where they (dell) can make a real killing on.

Confusing..
I clicked on the 8200 series...
The page pops up with the $1718.00 with a $150 discount.
I configure it..
change 256mb to 128 mb
1 year warranty
get a price off : $ 1,399 (with the $150 discount) ($1550 w/o)
I enter in the 10%, it knocks out the $150 discount (says it's no...
Does anyone know a site where they compare the Mobile athlons and Intel's?
are the athlon xp 1500+ the same, worse or better than the P4 1.6?
thanks!
rehan
What is the XP 1500+ comparable too? P4 1.4/1.6?
so the Sony XA53 is like $1599-$100 sony rebate (it's on the amazon site)
plus you get a $200 promotional gift certificate to amazon?
If the XP 1500+ is comparable to a P4 1.6 or 1.4 , i'm definitly in.
(but is it?)
rehan
I saw at CompUSA that they had a Sony Vaio Athlon XP 1500+ for $1499 AR.
is this the same, better as the compaq?
it has:
256mb
30 gig
14.1" screen
DVD/CDRW
are XP 1500+ comparable to P4 1.6? 1.4? Piii?

I get rebates checks that mispell my name all the time.
Just as long as it looks somewhat like your name, your bank won't care.
just sign in, and cash it.
really quick (and I'll do more research as well)), what would the corresponding equivlanet be from Intel?
I'm out of touch on how AMD names thier processors.
thanks!
(I asked this question b4, but i forgot what people told me)
Would the TDK Mojo for $100 be better?
there is a $10 coupon somewhere.... my cheap Memmerox CD/Mp3 Broke, so now I don't have a portable cd player.
any suggestions?
I saw Airport Tycoon for $2.99
Terminus $7.99
at my eb store.
Their return policy is also pretty good. I bought a linux games that required 3d accel (which i havn't configured at that time), so I returned it (even though it was opened) for a refund.
they are pretty good.

I didn't know that - if the rebate doesn't come.. Compusa will help out?
the reason is that the compusa doesn't list the price after rebate.. they list the price B4 rebate.
and this rebate isn't a compusa rebate.. it's a manufacturer - so i would assume they (compusa) would say that we have...
Well isn't it better to buy from the fijitsu homepage?
for $260 more, you get a 256mb ram, and it's brand new, and don't have to worry about outpost return policy. isn't that better?
curious

Hey,
If you got to EB (eletronic boutique), they always hade Q3A for $10 as well as lots of other linux games including Terminus, RRTycoon 3, Soldiers of Fortune, etc.
It should also be available on their website.
