Right, thanks for that, folks. Shall bear your responses in mind.
Apparently my survey making skills have a lot to be desired, something else I'll have to work on.
Sci-fi always makes things better ;)
Quiet, dust free and a solid are some of the major things I look for in a case as well.
Hello there folks
Hopefully this is the correct place to post this, if not I apologise.
Just to get up to speed:
I currently look after my grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease and it has given me a long time to think about what I want to do, and that I need to think seriously about...
I haven't bothered with anything else but Windows Defender and Firewall for a long time now.
I haven't had issues. Then again, the last proper confirmed virus I had was about 1997 when something decided to remove all of my documents.
Run Adblock plus extension in your browser and hopefully never see an advert again. As for current situation, definately check for malware, as it sounds... dodgy.
I have the Intuos 4 and it s awesome. I used to have a more generic thing, but the difference between the two was incredibly obvious.
If you can afford it, I'd get the Intuos. In the end though, it is just a tool and either one would be better than a mouse.

Admittedly, that will most likely spread your parts out, but in my mind, any saving is a good thing - unless you have particular issues with a suggested retailer.
Saying that, there are a few companies that I would consider...
That microATX that Cerb posted is pretty much exactly what I have.
I have two render nodes of a similar spec (different mobo and case ;), working very nicely!!) Main PC I went a bit mad with 32GB though.
I had a Voodoo accelerator card at some point then moved out of the country from 1999 - 2004 and was pretty much without a PC of my own, so not much time for building or anything.
First card I can remember 100% was by beloved EVGA 8800 Ultra Superoverclocked.
