just got ICS working... but...

ICS uses NAT (Network Address Translation). Your computers inside can not be accessed from the outside. Set the server up as with your programs and the outside world won't have a problem.

I just happened to be playing with a Linksys router and noticed a small problem with the layout I did. It's no big problem, the concept is still the same, but the Linksys (and maybe others) can't be setup for a subnet larger then 254 hosts. This is not a problem since you only said you need 50...

I believe a Layer 3 routing protocol like OSPF or IGRP is needed to do load balancing. Windows 2000 does support OSPF, but I seriously doubt M$ could have possibly implemented the Internet sharing software in such a way it could even be setup to load balance properly, much less do it...

Win2k and RoadRunner DHCP Problem..

Sounds like a Win2k driver problem. The 169.x.x.x address is the address that Windows assigns when it is not told what to be. If your NIC is a 10/100 model, it could be having trouble automatically syncing up. One thing you can try that might help is to lock the NIC into 10BaseT mode - Control...

I think I understand why you want dual NIC's. With Dual NICS, you can bind various services to a specific NIC. This allows you to setup services on your internal LAN "for internal use only" (like telnet and samba). Although, I have to say you sure are jumping head first into networking...
