Need ASUS BIOS...

Does retail (boxed) Athlons include a fan?

Yes. Comes with a crappy thermal pad and an AMD sticker (not Athlon, just AMD, at least that is for the two that I have bought.) Get some goof off and clean it (unless you are not using grease of course), or just buy an OEM and find a fan that ships without a pad.

Monitor choice: Samsung 1200NF, Sony G500, or generic 17.4in LCD?

I just sent my G500 back since there was a slight problem with the picture...today I get my 1200NF from outpost we shall see...I must say that I love free overnight shipping on an 80+ lb monitor.

I just bought a G500 from uBid....my eyes were being raped my ViewSonic PF815, but no more, alas, there seems to be an anomaly in the middle area, it seems sort of dim, is there a way to fix this in the configiuration? Otherwiase I may have to get a 1200NF (I only paid about $500 for this G500...

Laser printer upsets other devices on same power trunk...Any solution?

BTW, with my wireless (personal experience) and according to Sprint sales and support both, latency is too high to game with, as cuold be expected of wireless, my dial-up is better for gaming, but the wireless when it was not too populated was very good. Otherwise it sucks...so there you have...

I use a similar product form a different company and plan to switch...(too many accesspoint problems...small company) Anyway, No problems at all due to weather UNLESS your antenna or one in the system gets hit, one of the ones you use...Otherwise its all good.

And good luck disabling the L2 cache, pretty hard on most laptops, since most manufacturers lock you out of the BIOS in some fashion, different for all manuf's...I am still waiting for a self build laptop ;)

Good, so I don't feel like the only one :) I hate the Memorex, it is so cheaply build that it makes me sick. I have had Magnacrap, and refuse to buy electronics named after a cheap laxative, thank you very much. Same reason I will not buy Epox...they are just glue turned into mb's. ;)
