I didn't actually know that was a thing. Our old modem went out and they showed up with this thing. I don't even use the wireless cause my existing router works just fine. I'll see about getting a dedicated cable modem and send this thing back now that I know!

Holy what. This worked. So after about two hours fighting with my modem (ISP-provided; could not change DNS. Sons of bitches.).... When it worked and I almost cried like a big baby! "Baby! BABY LOOK!!! (***dims lights!!!***)" I got some eye rolls, but I couldn't be happier. Say what you will...

What on earth would I do with a Link hub? Does anyone use both the Link and Wink hubs together? Are there any benefits? There is a starter kit at the Home Depot with two (2) GE bulbs and the Link hub (NOT Wink Hub) for $25. I got a few since it's the first time I've ever seen the bulbs...

Has anyone else noticed condensation inside their GE Link bulbs? I have condensation on the inside of every A19 bulb I have. Maybe I keep my house too cold (I don't think so), but it still shouldn't happen. I hope it's harmless. It doesn't seem to affect operation. That I know of. Yet. Will...

There is full scheduling capability in the Wink App. From the Lights list, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, scroll down to Schedule (the last item, in iOS at least.) Hope this helps!

I have a suggestion for a feature they should add to the Wink App. (I know, I know, they need to get everything working reliably first.) A "Capture Lighting States" Button I suggest that there be a button to capture the way you currently have all your lighting set up: what's on, what's off...

Lots of you here have said (or at least agreed) that Wink should only push a new update to a small cross-section of users in order to cut down on bugs and disruptions, and to lighten the support load if there was an issue with the new update. It would appear that's exactly what they've done...

I have two dimmable, non-connected Cree bulbs from Home Depot. They are not on a dimmer switch. So far so good. Going to get more soon. Just have to find something to do with all those pesky CFLs I dropped hundreds of dollars on in the last four years.

Did anyone see the Quirky CEO in this video: http://youtu.be/Y5VCyu_rBjs ? I found him to be very cavalier and immature compared to the other panelists. In contrast, the SmartThings guy was very well-spoken and more put-together. It's like some weird analogy for their respective product lines.

If you have a Chaimberlain with a a battery backup as I do, or any deadbolt lock that uses batteries, you can still get into your home when the power's out! Also, if your battery-backed-up hub is the thing responsible for alerting you if your smoke detectors go off, or unlocking all the doors...
