If the PC is connected directly to the DSL modem... I can connect to the internet.
If the PC is connected directly to the router... i can connect to the router but NOT the internet.
I have set the user name, password and PPPoE settings in the router and had no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Would this be the correct order if placed in order of performance? (slowest to fastest)
I'm not trying to start a flame war or state that one brand is better than another, I'm just checking the facts ;)
As a matter of fact, I'd love to see all video cards listed in this fashion... ATi...
I'm curious too. It's listed at NewEgg like this... CPU PENTIUM III/CELERON 1.0AGHz 256K L2 Cache FCPGA Processor
With 256k L2 doesn't that make it just like a 1GHz P3? (I know, I know, the P3 runs at 133FSB)
Hmm... 1GHz Cel-Mine $76 or a 1GHz P3 $135... How about raising the FSB to...
smp - I remember those MSI kt133 boards...
heck I bought one to use as a file server and it died in less than 7 months.
My Lite-On 12x still works... but I doubt that I use it as much as some of you guys do.
Just my 2 cents...
:D
I agree... not the best idea... but it can be done.
What OS? If it's Win9x this might help...
With the new drive installed as a master on the secondary channel, already fdisked, formated, etc, boot into Windoze, open the command promt and type...
xcopy c:\*.* d:\ /s/e/h/c/y/r
shut down...
This is a good example of why you should NEVER use the ADMIN logon for regular use. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS create your own user with admin rights and use it instead. The ADMIN becomes your backup for just such an occasion! :)
Thanks for the info :) I'll try it tonight!
By the way, changing the IDE delay is simple enough... what about the 370highpoint controller???
It's not very reasuring to know that this is a common problem... and the fact that my mobo is the newer v1.1 you would hope that a problem like this was...
I've tried that too...
I've removed every card except the GF3... I even went as far as unpluging every drive and fan that wasn't needed to boot. We're talking bare bones here... no luck. Has anyone else had this problem??? Or heard of someone with this prob???
Maybe it's the mobo??? I could...
Okay,
I've tried the I/O voltage (maxed @ 3.9v) I had to put the V3 back in just to see the BIOS :frown:
Wow it booted!!! :) but only once... :(
I did a restart and saw nothing... I heard those damn beeps though!
I haven't had any luck since then... Any other ideas???
I'm really close to...
Thanks for the input...
I've done the BIOS tweaks already... everthing except the I/O voltage... I'll give it a shot.
Hmm, where would i find a new BIOS for a GF3. Let me go take a look around the web... I'll post if I find it and if it helps any.
Thanks!
Abit KT7A-Raid
AMD 1.2 266FSB
256MB PC150 Kingmax
Etc.
Etc.
I've just upgraded from a Voodoo3 3500 AGP to a Hercules Geforce3... but it has no display when powered on. The mobo simply gives me one long beep followed by two short beeps... the no display card error. The GF3 tested fine in two...
