"Terrible" build may be subjective. I am a heavy daily user and had no issues for 3 years. The Xperia X Performance in Europe costs 729eur: significantly more than a Galaxy S7. It is undoubtedly a good phone, but it is far from what I am looking for.

Absolutely. I think I am sounding like a broken record, but the Nexus 5, when came out, had the SD800, decent battery, decent camera, decent screen, all under 400eur. There are MANY phones with 5.5" screens below 400eur. All with decent batteries, cameras and some even with a fingerprint...

To my knowledge, a Galaxy S6 does not have an SD card. The closest thing to what I am looking for today is an S7. I would happily swap the QHD screen for an FHD for a price closer to 400eur, than the current 570eur.

Good point: although I'd lean more towards the $50, there are certainly less technical people who would spend more, or just buy a "gaming PC" pre-assembled, and pay an arm and a leg for it. And as someone else stated: the consoles only need to be plugged in and "just work".

I tend to agree, in general. I think it makes also a difference how much time you actually plan to spend playing. I never really had a problem playing with a PC (back in the days) and I looked in the console only ... well, I explained it already in my first post. Thanks for your comment though.

The Power8 architecture was introduced last year (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POWER8). Going the x86 has a lot of advantages, but if they wanted to stay in teh PowerPC real, and have a new custom CPU/GPU, they could have.
