Got my $12 Power Pivot Genius today and I think they are unclear on what the term Genius means.
I would expect a product from Quirky to be fully functional in the Wink system, the power pivot does not show the correct state of the outlet unless it happens to be off. If I want to turn off an...
You need the updated Wink app which will then make your Wink app force close. But when it does get fixed you need to create special shortcuts for "ok google" activation.
After actually trying to use the voice commands I would have to say they do not work.
For some reason the 3.1.0.10 update is no longer available on Google Play. The only version available is 3.1.0.8 and it crashes on start-up. I got the good version while it was available but did not know they pulled it and updated my tablet so it is now useless for Wink.
Is Wink actively...
Just a heads up, if you have Android don't update the Wink app the update just force closes.
Seems they just updated the update to 3.1.0.10 and fixed it.
The articles on engadget and cnet say the problem was a botched update which is incorrect it was a lack of an update(maybe). This misinformation is out there because of Wink not being honest about what really happened.
That is all Wink knows how to do. No change logs, no idea if Wink will ever work again.
Ben Kaufman said 2 months ago that local control was coming soon, if that would have been true today would not be that big of a problem.
Question for matt-wink, I contacted support via email about the 0.82 hub firmware and was told it was released but I needed to call support to get it. Why if it is released can't I just do the update when I want to?
On the Wink Users Group on Facebook Ben Kaufman said this
"Ben Kaufman Sean Smith we will soon have local control on the hub

Any news on when Smart Things 2 will be out? As it is with Wink I usually have to repeatedly open and close my front door when I get home from work to get my lights to turn on. Some times it is more than 30 seconds before I get a notification from the tripper and still no lights turning on. I...
You will probably get a response something like "We are working to implement that very soon" because that is their standard response but soon could be next year or never to Wink.
I finally got the .56 update a couple of days ago but still can't get robots to use my motion sensor. I can connect it to the hub but just can't see any actions to select when using it in a robot. I have paired and unpaired many times re installed the wink app cleared app data but still no luck...
How did you get it to work? I can add it and it shows up as a selection in robots but there is no way I can to actually use it. I am on firmware .55 and Android.
One of my first times tweeting them about generic Z-Wave sensors got me a response of they were coming out with lots of new stuff soon and that "I hope it won't be too much of an inconvenience for you" referring to the wait. To me that came of as talking down to your customers or not caring.
My main point is that the Wink hub does not work as advertised and they don't like people pointing that out. Instead of addressing their lack of communication they just block comments they don't like.
I have been following this since I got my Wink hub but did not feel a need to post until now. I have been questioning Wink on Twitter about there lack of support for generic z-wave devices and their general lack of communications. Tonight I went to Twitter to ask about firmware 00.56 and a...
