Kaby-lake, could be better suited when considering all the three use cases. Not to mention better performance and better codec support, plus quick sync(if required).
Else if gaming is a bigger priority, then may be BR-APUs. Depends upon the priorities of OP
You mean an idea similar to "the introduction of fury X" a little late to the game? And even worse this time the whole high-end market(or even the 300$+) would virtually belong to Nvidia(for 10months or more?).
ShintaiDK surely has a point here. Many of those who would have already bought gtx...
Ok,so we should ignore all the current reviews and performance/efficieny estimation but look at some theoretical peak numbers by the two companies? Probably that's why AMD was so keen on showing off a 86W system power consumption of a polaris against 140W of a 950 equipped system(which we know...
Where did you see the prove? Please share with us too.
Anyway, people should be cautious about taking controlled room demos as some kind of actual performance review. Not long ago did AMD show a system with a polaris consuming 54W less than a gtx 950 equipped system. From various reviews it...
All the recent TPU reviews give clear edge overall to gtx 1060 6GB vs rx 480 8GB, be it reference vs reference or custom OC models vs custom OC models.
Even in the pic attached some posts before(taken from CB), there's one custom gtx 1060 and it beats all custom rx 480s present in the test...
Yup,for a year on year if they could improve ipc by that much it would be a really solid show from single core/ST improvement. Clock bump along with a little ipc bump say even ~3-5% would put it ~10% plus above.
Yeah, may not be interesting for those who already have skylake or even haswell i7...
I am not aware whether Jingdong used to or does show number of sales although they do show comments/reviews which can be of certified buyers as well those who don't have bought. :)
In China both reference rx 480s and AIB gtx 1060s start from 1999¥.
Zotac Amp and Mini versions are up for pre-order in India for 25k,23k would be available July 25 onwards.
Rx 480 8GB is going for ~27k INR in India.
For reference, Amp 1070 and 1080 are listed at ~38k and 58.5k.
Rx 480...
A small loss won't be that bad for them. There stock value is already quite high from some months ago as noted. Polaris success in desktops and notebooks(?) may have effect on their stocks but how much on quarterly income we will see in the next 2 quarters perhaps.
Quarterly reports of next...
Really? We did see lot of people calling similar and lot worse to 1070/1080 and some of it was quite deserved at least for the 100/80$ reference blower price stunt but did we see such silly complains then?
The OP clearly clarified he also intends to game well on 1440p for what little amount he...
Yeah, from the technical perspective that's a major drawback.
On desktops it can be overlooked by most for the price, both are completely different price and performance segments. But yeah it sure is sad how much it is behind Nvidia in perf/W.
At least Videocardz was only giving out validated 3dmark results and quoting some good sources as far as rx480 articles concern. The really stupid hype was created by Wccftech and fanboyism. Though Videocardz might not have been perfect in past they certainly didn't hype rx480 to the extent that...
It's still the GPU to get for 250$ and below at least until gp106 drops out and is competitive enough.
But from a technical perspective the perf/W is poor relatively to Nvidia. It's sad to see such a big gap between GP104 and polaris 10 perf/W.
This might be crucial for losing out many...
While we don't know the exact performance yet but even if it is just ~390-390x level as soon as the 230$ RX 480 is available I think most others (hawaii and 970) would mostly be irrelevant from a new buyer's perspective,be it VRAM (8G vs 3.5 effective),power consumption, ports or some better...
Yeah,we are probably looking at the same thing with different perspectives.
I would consider launch prices of 280/260 relevant because without RV770 being so good and timely, Nvidia very likely would have retained those prices for longer.
4870 beat the original gtx 260 and was priced 300$ at launch,150 lower to 450$ gtx260,also it came close to(85-90%) gtx 280 which was 650$ at 4870's launch. Yeah,it forced subsequent price cuts and later new cards like gtx260 core 216 and 4870 1GB also came into the play making it all more...
So from all the various reviews and owner observations it seems the top end overclocks are generally somewhere around ~2-2.1GHz be it custom or FE 1080(at least for now).
Torturing is wrong and people playing cultural politics in this are being short-sighted.
If people have spare time then do watch "Earthlings" at earthlings.com. Some might have already seen it. It's not like cows and other animals are not tortured or this thing limited to some sort of "culture"...
Good points by LegendKiller. Delusional victim mindset by covering under "feminist" or other categories is just stupid, such groups just become mere vote-banks and have victimhood, privilege and attention-seeking nonsense.
Gibbo @OCuk is well known. If what he says is correct that is close to 5000 gtx1080s sold from their store then it seems to do well. Yea sure he might or might not be correct in his estimations for others. :)
