The info I've gotten is that it's the Syntax Olevia - Which is a very nice lcd TV. Damn I wish I had a Micro Center near me. They don't seem to have them at www.microcenter.com

Good 15-17" AG monitor for sub-$170?

I'm looking for a monitor I can purchase in multiple quantities for the business I'm working at. They can be 15" or 17", they have to be able to do 1024X768@70HZ, and they have to be Aperture Grill. Any Ideas/suggestions?

Anyone recommend a good place to get an nVidia GForce 2, 3 or 4 for a good price???

Or if you're willing to wait a few weeks, the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 should be at the high-end of your price point, and will kick a GF3 Ti200's ass.

What piece of hardware has caused you the MOST headaches in the past year or two?

I have to third (or fourth, i've lost count) the K7T Pro2a, started out bad when I got it a year ago, finally died 3 weeks ago. After that, the issues I've had with the K7S5A's have seemed like minor annoyances.

computer won't boot

This happened to me this weekend. It was a CPU that was DOA. If you have another CPU, try that one, if you still don't get a beep, it's probably your motherboard. Either way, you should be able to RMA it.

DDR memory?

PC1600 and PC2100 are just industry buzz words used for DDR specs. It refers to the amount of theoretical bandwidth each one has (1.6G vs 2.1G). Basically, PC1600 is just a 100(200) MHz DDR module and PC2100 is a 133(266) MHz DDR module.

VMWare Virtual Machine Performance

Are you running it in fullscreen or windowed mode? If in windowed, switch to fullscreen. Screen refreshing sucks otherwise. Also, how much ram are you allocating to the VM? When are you seeing slowdown, all the time or during disk writes?

How Good is Monarchcomputer.com???

I have a MSI Pro2A/TBird 1.1 combo. It came fully assembled with a Taisol already on. It runs cool (Max 43C) in my case with only 2 80mm fans, even though I've OCed it to 1210. Highly recommended.

How difficult/What are the dangers in unlocking my Athlon 1.1Ghz?

Thanks for all the replies. <edit>I'll have to pop the Taisol off the CPU. Is this difficult? And is there any thermal compound that would be recommended for when I put it back together?</edit> Squirrel man- changing the multiplier in BIOS will have no effect if your processer is locked.

How difficult/What are the dangers in unlocking my Athlon 1.1Ghz?

The reason being that I can get it almost completely stable at 1210Mhz (11X110) and I was wondering how difficult it is to do the mechanical pencil trick? Also, do you think this would garner me better OCing results?

Cold Boot not working?

I have a antec S1030B connected to a MSI K7T Pro2A. It doesn't seem to want to POST when I cold boot. This is the only time it doesn't POST, and I can immediately hit the reset button and it will come up. What's up?

Is there something wrong with my new rig?

See sig for my machine. Although its booting up and shutting down REALLY FAST, i'm having problems with UT. I'm getting 12fps average in 640X480X32. That goes up to 27fps when I go down to 16bit color. I'm using 6.31 drivers from nvidia, and 4.28 of UT. The voice in the UT flyby also has...

Sony 19" CPD-E400 monitor $421 del next day

If you aren't pressed for the holidays, I just bought the G400 from onvia.com for 457 shipped (ups ground) with the 50 off 500 coupon. Its a better monitor then the E400 (mostly can do higher resolutions better).
