A memory incompatibility problem wouldn't just pop out of the blue. It's either there or its not. One of the few problems where there aren't any grey areas, from my experience at least.

Using ECC supposedly decreases your PC's performance by about 2%. In my opinion, current DRAM technology is very stable and memory errors are very rare. I've heard statistics like one error every 8 years for current DRAM technology.
I think ECC SDRAM should only be used in mission critical...

Our REV 2 and REV 3 modules are now being shipped with there SPD's set to 2-2-2 memory latency timings. The PC150 HSDRAM module is shipped with its SPD's memory latency timings set to 2-3-2. The REV 1.5 modules however are still being shipped with its SPD's memory latency timings set to 3-3-3...
