File format is one thing and another thing is how you are interfacing with it... Headphone jack, bluetooth... the quality differs per device. Apple devices are better for sound quality. iOS 8 isn't fully supported, but still compatible.

Need to make my build quieter!

That depends on the cooler and thermal paste. I'm currently using a closed loop Intel cooler on my i7 3770K and I see temps around 72C under load. But my temps could be a hell of a lot better with coollabratory liquid metal pro or ultra. The only problem I have with that stuff is when you use it...

A $3,000 budget, Luxury and Reliable do not go together. Nope, not one bit... If you get a BMW for 3K and expect it to be reliable you are going to have a expensive lesson on your hands. Unless... other deals were struck. Like how good the trade in on that body is... and I'm not talking about a car.

This winter has been horrible

I'd recommend something like a Honda CR-V. That's what my wife has and it's pretty awesome in the snow... It's also a really common vehicle, so parts are vast and repairs are not too bad if needed. Had a friend with a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS a while back... It was a fun little car, but cost an arm...

What first world problem did you have today?

Ordered a second R9 290X Tri-X to find out my motherboard doesn't have enough space between the PCI-E slots to allow the fans to move on the top card because they sandwich together and the aftermarket cooler is slightly taller than 2 slots. Now I have to buy another motherboard and everyone...

When I owned that TV I didn't have ghosting if that's what your asking about. I couldn't run 4K with my set-up at the time, so I had to run @ 1440p and it was beautiful on that 50" TV.

Upgrade Path

I would suggest looking into a i7 4790K and Z97. If you are willing to spend a decent amount on your motherboard, i'd suggest checking out the Z97 MSI MPOWER. Gigabyte has some good deals on their Z97 Gaming 7 boards as well. I have tired out the Asus Z97-AR and it was a pretty solid board, but...

AX850 too loud with 290x CF setup, EVGA vs. Corsair 1000+ units?

I found a used Seasonic X-1250 on craigslist for $80. Works perfect with my R9 290X's and it's super quiet.

The new Corsair H110i GT is what i'd recommend getting for your CPU cooler. But only if you can fit a dual 140mm fan radiator in your case. Only thing that can compete with it is the Kraken X60. If you go with a X99 motherboard, make sure to pair it with a set of quad channel memory. Definitely...

Need to make my build quieter!

Personally i'd look into a closed loop water cooler for the CPU. Like a Corsair H series CPU cooler. The ones with the 140mm fans are going to run quieter than the 120mm ones IMO. Also, for case fans... Cougar has some really nice quiet fans that actually push a decent amount of air...

Mobo - CPU recommend for software development

If you need that much RAM, i'd definitely look into the X99 chipset with a i7 5820K processor. Just move onto DDR4 and get a 32GB 4X8GB kit. You will be able to upgrade to 64GB later on if needed and X99 is here for a while, there will be a refresh to allow you to upgrade the CPU later on as well.

PSU Upgrade Suggestions Please

*EDIT* I'd recommend also looking at EVGA G2 power supplies. Their 850 G2 is an excellent PSU. But that system only needs about 600w that is at least silver certified to run at comfortable ranges.

I need a liquid cooling system with long hoses

Yeah, you won't find extra long hoses on closed loop coolers. They build those for the masses and most people don't require the length of hoses you need. You will need to run a custom loop for that. I'd recommend checking into something like a XSPC watercooling kit. They are way more effective...

The i7 2600K is a solid processor. In games it's about 16% slower than a i7 4770K @ stock speeds. You can do some overclocking to throw that off though. That R9 290X should be a solid card. I'm not really familiar with the cost of hardware in your country though. It seems like a lot of money to...

i7 4970k + gigabyte z97x gaming 3?

Any Z97 board will work with that processor. Not really sure you will actually need that processor though, an i5 4690K would probably fit your needs just as well. Z87 boards will also work with that processor with the latest BIOS updates. The best deal I've seen recently is the MSI Z87 MPOWER...

I wouldn't get the SSD, i'd recommend looking into Samsungs 850 series... Or better yet, a Intel 730 or Crucial MX100 series SSD. They are MLC drives that are going to last a lot longer... I don't know about you, but I never sell my hard drives... so I want them to last as long as possible...

Total lockup/freeze without a cause?!?

Good cheap headphones (with mic) for gaming on PS4

I've seen Logitech G930's go for about that price on eBay from time to time. Those were some nice headphones when I had them. I accidentally broke my USB RF stick when I moved though. Ended up getting a real cheap pair of headphones to replace them, but I miss my G930's quite a bit.
