New Theme!

I think it looks fine other than the sidebar needs to be resized. It's actually more visually appealing compared to the original. Just needs a little more work. Also, on the footer it has contact us in 2 different locations which is just a matter of changing the footer code to remove one instance.

X79 Issue

It was halting on the Boot LED and 24 pin connector wouldn't make contact.

X79 Issue

Sent out my Asus Sabertooth X79 for RMA. When I got it back I assembled everything exactly the way that I had it. Here's the issue: When booting it doesn't recognize all 32 GB of memory. But, when I go to CPU-Z it shows 32 GB but at Dual Channel.Also will not clock up to 1866 MHz it gives...

You will definitely see the difference. AIO liquid coolers aren't badly priced and if you have a Microcenter nearby, which I believe you do, they have them reduced a lot. I wish i had a Microcenter close by because they had a god deal on the motherboard I had wanted.

Apartment living ... dealing with rent increases ...

People forget also long term maintenance costs like furnaces, roofs, etc. Cost of materials has skyrocketed and some people are allowing their houses to get run down because of not having the available funds to fix them.

I like it. Overclocking is much easier without worrying about temps. I spent the extra money and bought a water cooler. Well worth the money.

Best X79 motherboard

I haven't seen many X79 boards up for sale used. Unless on Amazon or ebay. Even then they're overpriced. I originally thought of upgrading to an X99 but then I saw the benchmarks weren't all that much better than a 4790K. I think at some point a 4790K is in my future but just not right now.

I can't make my mind up!!

This is why I chose and 290X as well. Getting a god deal on ne as soon as the new cards hit the market. My case and PS can easily hande the cardsand if cooling becomes an issue then there's plenty of room for more fans.

I can't make my mind up!!

Just wait, AMD is due to release their new cards shortly causing a reduction in price to the R9 290Xs and 290s. If you have patience you'll benefit better from it. I'm a diehard AMD fan and waiting for the new cards to be released so I can upgrade.

I'm disassembling/returning in one hour, which of these two AM3+ boards should I get?

990 is definitely the better chipset. Like shmuckley said you can't go wrong with ASUS either.

New build question

ASRock is a subsidiary of ASUS making lower end boards. 1 board on the Z97 chipset that I've seen and heard great reviews about is the MSI Z97 SLI Krait edition. Asus boards are good but quite pricy at times. You can get the same performance out of a Gigabyte or MSI at a lower price. EVGA...

Are Windows Important Updates Getting Silly? KB3006137

It's only used for country specific layouts such as keyboards. Instead of getting a $ they get the euro sign instead. It's a hotfix for all regions, or so they say.

Any other NZXT 810 Switch users out there?

That's another point too, for it's size it lacks space on the back cover to properly install the cover after all you wires and cables are run. That top cover is a thorn in my side. I can be sitting there and it pops off for no reason especially after I open the vents on top.

Any other NZXT 810 Switch users out there?

I just got this board and absolutely love the room it has in it. Only drawback is top cover and front cover feel kind of flimsy. Mine is in white and currently waiting on some Bit Fenix white fans to replace the stock case fans.

Should memory modules be in mobo's compatibility list?

I've had multiple problems with ASUS boards with incompatible memory going back to an ASUS Crossfire III that hated any kind of OCZ memory I tried. Switched to Corsair and problem was resolved.

Need help

Switch the motherboard to an MSI Z97S Krait edition and it brings it down a little bit. But, it's a fair price for everything. I just like the Krait because of black and white color.

[MMO] World of Tanks

After 16k games, I've found most people in pub games are mindless and just follow the pack. I've seen 2 TDs hold off a pack of 12 or more while their team flanks evryone else. I gave up on trying to be the one playing smart and let the others decide my fate.
