Titan V announced, $3000 volta gpu

The titan xp originally had FP64 to be 1/32 of FP32. But the driver update boosted titan xp’s performance in professional applications. Is it still 1/32?

Titan V announced, $3000 volta gpu

I suspect the next geforce would not use gv100 but the one nvidia announced, ampere, probably without tensor cores. 3000 is a bargain for reseachers to use the tensor cores, instead of shelling out 15k usd plus for tesla v100 like that. While for us this thing is not really a consumer product...

    i5 4570 + GTX 1070 or GTX 1060 doubts.

I would just say you need faster cpu if you want to push high fps for 144hz panels. I face heavy cpu bottleneck by using i5 4440 3.1Ghz with gtx 1070 on certain games, mostly it is over 60fps when my panel can do 165hz. If you are using something like 1440p but 60hz, cpu are less of the...

GTX 1070 Ti Thread (Reviews and Benchmarks)

19 months for $50 drop in price is clearly wrong. GTX1080 launch price was $599 and fe $699. If we take the $599, it is a drop of $170.

    Various Wolfenstein II's Benchmarks

Another game where 1920+mhz GTX1070 stomped 1342mhz 980ti in 1080p. Wheres that dude here that keep shouting 980ti is better than GTX1070 and said GTX1070 is a lousy 70 series by nvidia? Don't forget as we progress to the future more demanding games, GTX1070 would not be 1440p anymore can drop...

3770k + 1080TI to play at 3440x1440. How much would CPU limit performance?

If it’s 4K 3770k is probably enough, but for wide qhd better processor is probably better, only if you want to go for more than 60fps?

    XMR mining thread

XMRMINER Even though i made a mistake, the way you wrote it in bold and underline is fairly rude. Don’t forget I spent my time to reply you, is it hard to say something like “I’m sorry but I would like to know what program you are using instead of the hashrate”? Remember you are asking for...

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

That’s a small cooler to pump 1.4volts. Isn’t it dangerous? I only pump 1.3v on my 6600k when using hyper 212, but my ambient temp is pretty high ranging around 30-35C so that sucks.

The Ryzen "ThreadRipper"... 16 cores of awesome

X399 threadripper supports ecc which is pretty important for sensitive engineering calculations. X99 supports it too but X299 doesn't seem to support it which is a bummer.

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

    Intel Skylake / Kaby Lake

Honestly speaking, I highly doubt the i3 would be 4 core 8 threads, that will put it in the same ballpark performance wise as i5 6 cores 6 threads. A more reasonable ladder would be: i3 = 4 cores 4 threads max oc around 750 cinebench r15, competes well with ryzen 4 cores 8 threads i5 = 6 cores...

    Ethereum GPU mining?

Even if it is real it is only 200Mh for $3500? Lol you can build a gpu rig with those hashrate at less than $2000(maybe)? Not to mention if vega claimed 70-100Mh/s is true or volta geforce launched (around 60Mh/s), the only one going to profit is the shovel's seller lol. Not to mention ethereum...

The Ryzen "ThreadRipper"... 16 cores of awesome

We also need to remember it isn't direct die, the ihs itself acts like a heatsink in a sense. The concerns should be more on the ability of coolers to dissipate 180watts or more

The Ryzen "ThreadRipper"... 16 cores of awesome

I don't think it'll be a huge issue for the small cooler contact area since metal conducts heat more effectively, should better than intel's tim lol

Does freesync mean anything w/ 4k resolution?

4k 144hz is too expensive so most 4k gamers uses 60hz panels. VRR is super super important for 60hz panels, and as others has mentioned, aim for at least 40fps, just lower the quality settings. Btw vega should be able to cruise most newer games fine at 4k

AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

    Upgrade: 980Ti SLI or 1080Ti (4K 60fps gaming)

Definitely 1080Ti: 1) No SLI issues. 2) No heat issues. 3) No power issues. 4) Easily overclokable and not much issue for 2&3. 5) Bigger 11GB VRAM. 6) Benefits from pascal architecture from maxwell (simultaneous multi projection etc) 7) Lower noise (because one card?) 8) The bragging rights of...

AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

As a gsync user, i think I'm qualified to say that even with gsync turned on, it is very obvious to see the difference between 50fps and 100fps. The difference between 90fps and 110fps however is alot harder to see.

jayztwocents said the same thing. With liquidcool, you have like 0.01% chance of it leak, with aircool, it's virtually zero chance. You can minimize the chance of it happening but you can't eliminate the possibility. You probably do not want it to happen while you are sleeping.

Just how much the new stepping can get? Look st polaris rx480 to rx580, slight increase in performance with the cost of higher power consumption. This vega fe already using 300watts, you're expecting the new stepping to consume 350-400 watts?

I had crashes when switching miners (nicehash auto switch). So I only run one type of miner at a time. I also use the miner directly using batch file instead of via nicehash gui too. Still got crashes sometime if I manually close the miner.

1080ti still have the same latency issues Did you forgot that 1080ti runs on 352bit bus while 1080 on 256 bit? That is 37.5% difference. So 25 with 1080 and 37 with 1080ti sounds exactly what those two cards will get
