That is a pretty good deal. The funny thing is that the 30GB version is actually $270 ($10 more than the 40GB version!). Best Buy sells the 30GB version for $220, so I think I'll wait for a deal on that...

Can't access add or remove programs after installing SP1

No incoming TCP traffic on local ports (ghetto network)

Another question... anyone know of any file sharing programs (gnutella, morpheus, etc) that you can use without needing an incoming port open? I thought that it wouldn't make much of a difference I just wouldn't be able to send other people files (I felt like such a leech), however, no file...

No incoming TCP traffic on local ports (ghetto network)

I think what happened was that many people were complaining of poor internet speeds so they blocked all incoming ports which pretty much kills all file sharing systems (gnutella, morpheus, etc) and thus freeing up a lot of bandwidth. So I guess the landlord spoke with the 3rd party company...

Oops, sorry the Antec one fits in a 5.25" bay but the second goes in a 3.5" but you can still mount a harddrive inside the Antec device...

Looking for: USB bay bus for 3.5 bay w/ 2 ports?

I know that Antec sells a pretty cool looking USB thing for the 3 1/2" bay, it has 2 USB connections but it also lets you mount a hard drive inside it so it doesn't hog the 3 1/2" bay. I haven't bought one yet but it looks cool. Also here is another type of setup for USB connections...

mixing of RAM (pc100, pc133, pc66)

If you are running the FSB at 100Mhz (on a 440BX chipset) then it seems somewhat unnecessary to get PC133 ram, just stick with the cheaper PC100 stuff.

I used the software that came with the Maxtor drive when I initially installed it and according to the software it created 20 (ugh) 2 gig partitions (it wouldn't let me create one big 40 gig partition for some reason). After the software did its thing it rebooted and windows crashed immediately...
