I Have a ABIT KT7A motherboard and was trying to install the driver software for a HP 960 printer. After loading the software on Windows ME I restarted the computer and received the message " Updating Hardware Information Database" window starts and stays at '0%' indefinitely. Does...
Oh Yeh it also has to be plugged into the #1 FAN pins or the mother board will not "see" it and will NOT start up just BEEP and shut down. Hate to see a good motherboard gone bad.
this may sound simplistic, but have you changed CPU fans? if the fan speed sensor doesn't send a signal to the motherboard it will auto shutdown to protect the CPU, the fan may run but without the sensor, no BOOT.
Hope it helps
I have seen this problem before,
Check to make sure the new vidio display settings are the same as the old ones (ie. frequency, colors) you may have the default setttings for the new card over driving the display. this will cause internal components to over heat and lower rhe life span of the...
Well to install your old drivers go to the properties and open the sound card, look for the "update driver" button. when you gett to the install drivers, go to show list, it will already have your sound card and push have disk, direct it to the drive path for you old drivers. hi tok...
personal opinion,, don't buy Soyo. Better board is MSIpro, ABIT is second. everything else looks good. Although the price of a 700 Duron is really low. look for 7200rpm drives.
well I normally hate to easter egg a problem , but... do you have another floppy drive to try. I mess with old 486 systems all the time and I'm suprised how picky they can be. I do have to mix and match between machines. maybe a little more detail would help? what kind of board/bios. good cable...
well it looks like the quantity of memory is not a problem, however the quality may hurt you. power supplies are another problem child when it comes to stabillity. do you have your swap files set up correctly for windows?
kind of a stange set up. but to answer the question about the twisted wnd on the wire, it is terminator that tells the computer whatever drive is connected after the twist is the boot device. it simplified the bus network in older computers. usually, depending on the BIOS, whatever device you...
The Price of New monitors is low, a good 17" for $150.00. plus a good warrenty. You get what you pay for. do you trust the seller of the used ones? I've done it both ways, but I've personaly had better luck with the new ones.
Well, as a mater of fact I had this exact problem. I had to CNTR.-ALT-DEL and close out all of the running tasks except SYSTRAY, and EXPLORER. it worked just fine after that.
I have WiN98SE, I think it was my CD burner software holding the hard drive open
Wonder if it will work, the standard transistor is a mix of different elements. But who would have gueesed you would ever need more than 550K of memory?
Sure you can but it's a one way trip. there is no way to change/update/correct or mess with the data files once burned. but they will last for a very long time. That just covers the title question
All I can give is my experience. I have a Cybervision C70, got it about a year ago and have been very happy. It is much cheaper today then when I payed 170.00 for it
Well it's AMEGA, what other machine can due 7 levels of true machine multi tasking?
Oh wait it's the year 2000. we have intel!!
I guess I will settel for ASUS, they seem to be the most consistant.
Looking to buy memory, want good stuff, but I just can't tell what is better Cas 2, 133 memory. Corsair or Mushkin. This will be on a MSI Pro 2a, AMD duron 700. Any one out there with an opinion?
I went through the same delema when I upgraded from my trusty old 486. I had a bunch of really good cards I didn't want to give up. It was an IRQ nitemare. what a pain. this time I'm starting over from scatch. too many things have changed. ISA is out, it is getting hard to find boards with even...
