    Well, that's two issues fixed, now only the total lack of modding support, the inability to use mouse macros, the impossibility of screen overlays, and various Steam issues remain. Oh, all that and no SLI/CF support. Yay.

    2-3 for me as well. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter when an awesome GPU-demanding game comes out that I have to play on max settings (Crysis!). That doesn't happen that often anymore though.

    About $400-500, though most I've spent so far was around $300 for a new 7870 XT. Anything above $500 just doesn't seem good value to me, even though I could afford it.

    You know, you are right and have changed my mind. I'm keeping my 7870 XT for a while longer :) All I'm playing nowadays is Diablo 3 anyway, and for that my current card suffices. Will probably upgrade once Battlefield 1 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided are released. Hopefully Vega is available then!

    The GTX 1080 does not look very interesting IMO, but I guess we should wait for the 'official' benchmarks before judging it. Anyway, one thing I like about it: GTX 980 Ti's are getting dumped for low prices, I might just snatch one up and wait for 1080 Ti/Vega afterwards. Currently on a HD 7870...

    As a company, I prefer AMD since they seem to rely less on shady business practices, and also don't seem intent to screw over their customers that much. I hate Gameworks with a passion. As for the actual graphics card I buy, it all comes down to perf/$. Couldn't care less about power usage...

    I'd go for the 390, purely for the extra 5.5 GB of VRAM. If you only game on 1080p, it's a tossup, with the 390 edging the 970 out slightly in terms of performance. 970 definitely will suffer from its limited VRAM in some games in resolutions above 1080p. Ethereum price is crashing down...

    Just do what I do and skip this generation, and wait for the 14nm GPUs with HBM2. Will probably be a big performance leap. There are hardly any games out right now that are worth upgrading for IMO. Till then my rusty old 7870 XT will do just fine.
