Please, try changing channels like others have suggested. 1, 6, or 11. Pick the one that's most stable. If you can do a site survey and figure out the best one, even better.

Multiple the 1.x numbers on the beta BIOS page by 10 and you get what's displayed in the BIOS. So, 1.4 <==> 14 and 1.5 <==> 15. They are equivalent there, so ignore the decimal point. :-) Anyway, I don't believe CPU-Z shows the BIOS version.

FYI, I can't get AbitEQ to work with Vista 32 either. I even tried enabling the real Administrator account (disabled by default in Vista) and ran Abit EQ from that account. No go. For now, I just forget Abit EQ.

I see. I don't share your experience. I have an IP35-E, E8400, and BIOS 16beta1. For me, the vcore drops from BIOS to Windows idle and from idle to load are both 0.02V, regardless of C1E/EIST status.

hokiealumnus, with BIOS 15 I'm noticing a large discrepancy between vcores in BIOS and reported by CPU-z. This is not vdroop as both vcores are at idle. It can be as much as 0.09V. I wonder if v16beta1 fares any better? Thanks.

The bold sentence is key. Plenty of times you would think the push pins are fully seated while they are not! The only way to make sure is to listen for a click sound for EVERY push pin, especially the last one. Take a look at the pins on the back of the motherboard. All four of the inner (black)...

What's the benefit of zero-filling a used hard drive before using it with a new machine? I understand for privacy reasons to zero-fill a hard drive when selling or RMAing it, but I have never zero-filled one for my own reuse. I simply deleted the existing partition. What am I missing here...

Interesting.... Took me a while connecting an old floppy to the new PC I'm building, just to discover that the IP35-E I got from newegg a couple of weeks ago already came with BIOS v. 15. Recognized my E8400 CPU and OCZ Ram without incidence. Nice.

I got an IP35-E from newegg last week and just bought an E8400 from Micro Center. I don't know what BIOS version came with the board. Hopefully it will allow me to at least POST with the E8400 so that I can update the BIOS to v. 15. Can't wait to install everything.

Thanks for the responses. I don't have a setting to initialize the PCI-e slot first over PCI or AGP. My motherboard doesn't have AGP, and both my old and new video cards are PCI-e. I also don't have onboard video, so nothing to switch there either.
