Isn't that what Gregster was finding though that he had to set it manually to 16xAF in Nvidia's tool? I may have misread the thread, but that was my impression...

Isn't the issue at hand that AMD's "Use application settings" actually let the game in-game settings take precedence over the vendor controlled settings? From reading the thread it appears Nvidia's default is "Let application decide", which I read as should do the same, i.e. let the in-game...

Do high end user use AMD instead of Intel?

But, this is only an option if all you're worried about is quality, and not bit-rate :) I can definitely see this not being an option for some users, e.g. they're OK with waiting a bit longer to get the best possible result in a given bit-rate constraint.

Yup; my household has several PCs, and all are running exclusively on AMD hardware (other then the company provided workstations, which are Intel/Nvidia based machines). I'm a software engineer by trade, my workloads are from developing in C++ (Visual Studio, game industry), watching video...

Long time lurker, first time poster, I could use some suggestions/help. I'm thinking about grabbing a new GPU in the next few months for my main rig, mostly for gaming @ 1600p. This one looks pretty powerful, and it looks to be the same as the TitanX for those resolutions if I read the charts...
