Question Zen4c vs E core Die area.

That 2 CU is a very bad move, they should gave 2 CU more to deliver decent graphics experience.

Even more, it has enough CPU power for basic gaming. And if goes with the N300, it might become a very decent gaming experience.

    Question ARM 2023 IP CPU/GPU news - Cortex X4/A720/A520 + Immortalis G720/Mali G720/G620

The issue is that A510 is a BIG regression from A55 Now is on par with it if the estimates are correct. Same with the A720 which seems to be now real evolution of A78 And now having rumours of Mediatek no longer using small cores in phones... seems that the small core has their days numbered...

    Question ARM 2023 IP CPU/GPU news - Cortex X4/A720/A520 + Immortalis G720/Mali G720/G620

Qualcomm did it too. Actually... - X4 seems to be interesting, is the only one who got real performance improvements - A720 seems to be the new "small" core since only improved efficiency. - A520 is only having nerfs (one less ALU) and claims better energy comsuption... which seems to be not so...

    Announcement AMD TPM exploit discovered

If that so, even Intel chips are vulnerable due TPM. So yeah, this is a BIG screwup from the ones who enforces TPM when it shows that is not secure.

    Announcement AMD TPM exploit discovered

If that happens, TPM would be the fault and not AMD or Intel... and that is bad news for that tech AND Microsoft since it enforces to use it. Oh boy, so TPM is not as secure as many tought.

Thread count. With 8 threads the Core wins big time, but with more, the situation changes since the Atom are no longer weak

    Question Intel Mont thread

Add a dGPU on it and it became a decent machine for everyday use. A 12 or 16 small core design with a GTX 1650 Ti GPU would make it a perfect device to use.
  11. D

    Question Intel Mont thread

The 8 cores are really decent, but again the GPU is the issue. if it has at least a low end Arc GPU or a low end nVIDIA GPU it would make the experience aceptable. And actually the real price is USD 350. Right now is again at USD 500, which is a scam.

    Discussion The RK3588 thread

WIndows on Rockchip is now an interesting thing. I mean, is totally unexpected to see a port for that OS and even more... this is the first non Qualcomm processor to get said support. Microsoft needs to step up and open Windows for ARM for the rest of processors.

Worst CPUs ever, now with poll!

Those small cores were an insult to everyone. Bobcat is the exception. But then those pieces of crap that can't even run an SNES emulator properly were flooding the market. Then comes Intel Bay Trail and literally made them rendered as pieces of the past.

Nvidia has approached Softbank and is considering buying ARM Holdings

So why MIPS failed? by a series of mishaps? MIPS now is technically non existant in Android scenario. Also isn't easier to see RISC-V tablets or Chromebooks before going to phones?

A clear candidate for Worst design along the AMD E1-2100 or the C50 and the VIA C3. I can see it even stuttering while running SNES emulator.

I tought that Itanic was bad... but Elbrus managed to defeat Itanium on failure level! So we have a new king on this thread? Meanwhile how the indian Shakti processor performs? I heard that was made in 180 nm process. Meanwhile... Zhaoxin is going back to Enhanced Pentium M era? That is brutal.

Worst CPUs ever, now with poll!

Funny story it can be necro untill you realize that there were chips that can compete in the worst CPUs ever like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 made by Samsung or the Exynos series since 9810. And that is not including some unknown ones like the Zhaoxin ones which performs very badly for the current...

    Question Intel Mont thread

Agree that 3 Ghz Skylake is not that fast, but once we see that is an octa core, everything changes, making it very useful. Maybe for someone who uses virtual machines or doing casual gaming it might do the trick, but just needs a dGPU, even if is a entry level to make a BIG change.

Worst CPUs ever, now with poll!

That last part loled me hard. But you are right. Even by having very strong single core performance, now most things are multithread and I see that having 8 core / 16 thread might become the next standard for the following years. And even in ARM it is shown that going multi core is now the...

I'd prefer PCIe with more lanes in order to test a dGPU in it. If the CPU is as strong as a Skylake one, it can run decently some new games.

Worst CPUs ever, now with poll!

Funny story despite Snapdragon 888 was a mess, it was the 8 Gen 1 the one who let it lose some terrain and allowed Mediatek to pull some impressive chips like the Dimensity 8100 (still waiting for a phone that fully uses the chip with Desktop mode) and 9000.

Ok guys, I saw that it passed more than 2 years and I want to add some new additions... 1. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Heck, what the hell Samsung did with that chip? Well, I managed to test the Poco X4 GT and the scores are the following: ST: 1138 MT: 3406 Open CL: 3680 Vulkan: 3911 I would want to have those insane results. That would lead me that those Xiaomi users are blatantly cheating. Now makes me think how Geekbench allowed those things. Also hope...

    The Intel Atom Thread

Well... time to revive the thread, why? Well, there is a video that shows up the Intel N100 in action. The jump compared to the previous gen is impressive. To make it better (and not joking) the fact that is a Quad Core makes it a very competent chip that can deliver better performance than...

    The Intel Atom Thread

The reason was because the Dual Cores were still being the "lowest" of the "lowest". Now that place is taken by a Quad Core. And the Dual Core going to Embedded solutions, thus making only accesible in certain pieces of hardware like a Pi like board So, with that clarified, seems that Intel...

    The Intel Atom Thread

Still, I can hardly see the N50 being used since the N100 is supposed to be the most basic chip from them. Those N50 and N95 should go to embedded solutions instead. So the jump between the most basic should be higher. Let's wait how this develops, but if the Quad Cores are the new basic is...

    The Intel Atom Thread

So, is Mendocino but Intel version... Also... Why they are selling the N50? isn't supposed to be only for certain vendors and not be sold to notebooks? A Dual Core no longer is useful for office apps. So expecting only the N100 onwards being put on laptops. And to make this interesting...
