BIGFOOTPI, It's easy to get a 1800XL for $170 or so on ebay. It may be used but that doesn't matter to me. So I'd be paying a premium of $30 to get this XL vs one on ebay.
So assuming that the resale value of this card will be less than that of a real XT by $50 (which is only approximately...
The 1800XT goes on ebay for about $240 + shipping. I wonder if it makes sense to buy this XL for $50 less. It's performance may be the same as that of the XT but its resale value may well be $50 less than that of a genuine XT come time to upgrade from it.

Take a look at the thread at fatwallet:

The member JRinOKC is openly declaring that he's fixing various attributes of it.
Besides, I have seen the actual coupon with the same code 5243 at...
The 15 off 50 coupon expired on 1/27/01. The one linked to in this thread is a forgery. The original looks nothing like it; the forgery has been done using the $10 off $50 coupon where the coupon code and expiration date have been altered. It may be risky to use it.

They seem to have moved the quantum rebate URL. The one at the given url:
http://www.quantum.com/quantum/promos/fbplus_as_rebate_form.htm
points to a rebate valid for purchases between 1/1/1 to 3/31/1
Does anyone know where the rebate form for purchases in December 2000 is? I can find some older...
The pc interface doesn't seem much use to me unless the multimeter can sample very quickly and you can use it as an oscilloscope. I do have just such a device - got it for $70 also from Radio shack.

I'm only able to get about 256kbps from it. I think the bottleneck is not in the transmitter(the wireless part is remarkably robust - it continues at 256kbps even if I put both units inside seperate metal drawers. I haven't done a distance test yet).

I just got me an Acer USB wireless networking kit
from OD B&M. It was marked down from $99 to $29.99. It has 2 USB modules that communicate wirelessly at upto 1mbps using 2.4GHz spread spectrum.
I also got a linksys 10/100 network card (marked down to $15 from $25) and a gravis gamepad...
It actually comes to 173.98-40-40=$93.98. I guess this should include shipping as Onvia gives free ground shipping, but you never know.

PS: Actually, it came 10 $140 after tax. So after the MIR it's $100. Sweet
I don't understand why accessmicro keeps featuring on this forum. If you look at pricewatch, you'll find 256MB for $71. It's not compatible with all boards, but surely accessmicro's Zeus stuff is not much better.
It's their store brand. Costs $9.99 and you get to take off $5 with a rebate. The disks have nothing printed on them as far as I could tell and they're in shrinkwrap only - no spindle even. The disks at the ends were all scratched up too. I think this price is for this weekend only.

How sure can I be that I do receive the mail in rebates I'm due? Are there companies that don't pay up? Which companies should I avoid?
Do staples MIRs come through always since they extract the money from the company? How about cyberrebate.com?
Thanks
