My 2080 Ti at max power limit has pretty terrible coil whine, I have to keep the voltage below 900 mV to make it tolerable. I can still maintain 1900 MHz around 875 mV which makes the whine tolerable under load and still maintains good performance.
Performance randomly degrades, I can tell when its going to start when my mouse starts skipping around when moving on windows desktop. If I swap the 3600 out back to the 2600X it works just fine, no issues.

My 3600 will easily boost to 4200 MHz in games with a Noctua u9s on a Asus b450i with the 2406 bios. Unfortunately the system is very finicky and performance craps out I had to drop my 2600x back in.
I just read the anandtech review and noticed that AMD was tested with windows 10 1903 and Intel was tested with 1709, is there a reason they didn’t take test both on 1903? Am I misreading the test setup page?
You can still undervolt and have the cpu downclock at idle. I undervolt both my cpu and GPU, they both drop down to lower voltages and clockspeeds when not in use.
I generally play in borderless fullscreen when I can get away with it, but there are certain games I find that can be finnicky and run much better in actual fullscreen. Borderless full screen works well for me when I am using a second monitor while playing.
It's starting to get a bit long in the tooth.

I generally find the people that cry "fanboys" or complain about "fanism" are just projecting.
Of course they are going to use the fastest gaming GPU available, they need to show Vega in the best possible light since it seems underwhelming from what we've seen. Glad the intel crew could pop in...

Just ordered the MSI Gaming X 1080 ti, pretty pumped to pair it with my Acer monitor. So some pics of it with someone here. Anyone else with it, and hows it running for you?
Normally every 2-3 years or when I can double my performance for a reasonable price. This upgrade was some unusual circumstances since I could sell my Nitro Fury for $75 more than I paid due to this mining craze. Used that money to buy a used EVGA 1080 SC. Pretty good upgrade for $70 or so.
GPU prices seem to be really wonky right now thanks to this mining craze. I sold my nitro fury for $75 more than I paid for it last year and upgraded to an EVGA 1080 SC for $410. Just waiting for my XB271HU to arrive to use it in all its glory.
I think the important thing this shows is that 4 cores is not going to be enough going forward. If your budget allows it you need to spring for the i7 or equivalent Ryzen versions when they are released. I've have people argue with me saying an i5 is enough for gaming but this clearly shows...
My fury runs about 70c with only 30% fan with a -60mV offset. I'm sure your ambient temps are warmer than mine but an increased fan speed may take care of that for you. I completely pleased with the sapphire nitro fury.
