Sorry for not updating! Thanks for everyone's input and advice! That totaled his truck with the estimate at 32k to fix it. They gave him what his paid for the truck plus taxes. The other insurance assigned a new agent to the case and he said the other guy wasnt giving accurate information. Now...

Our insurance is covering the truck under collision. I don't understand what the difference in doing that and having uninsured/underinsured coverage. I think maybe it varies by state. But either way, the truck will be covered. The problem is getting a rental. They have USAA. I called today...

More awesome news.. The other drivers insurance policy isn't enough to cover it. They won't even pay for a rental until they get the estimated cost of everything (including the pole). I'm considering a lawyer...

Yes, we are hoping it is totaled because we only had it for a month. We are in Louisiana and the law is 75% of the value of the car. Also, they go by NADA, and the price is the same as the sticker price, so we shouldn't lose any money for "depreciation". I just wanted to see if anyone could...
