Thanks, Elixer and balloonshark, my confusion, unlike the person on the MS link was that I had used the Win10 compatibility tool and it said I was compatible. I'll have to check to see if automatic driver updates is active. sure is a PITA.

I think you're right. If I only transfer the absolute essentials I lower the risk of transferring the bad cooties that I spread around. So I won't run amock with hubris and permissions without adult supervision :biggrin:. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi, GeekDrew, I did create a new user account with administrative privileges. I can run all of my programs from it although, obviously, I would have to redo all the settings, profiles, etc. It looks like my other user accounts are just hosed?

Yep. T-Bird 1.2 that would only overclock to 1.35. And on an Iwill, too. Very loud crappy fans. I remember feeling soooooooooo cool to come to the this forum and announce that I, too, was now a member of the 1Ghz club! It replaced the Socket 7. Then I went to 939.

FireFox 3.5 is slow and leaky for me
