    I just upgraded from my old q6600@3.0 to a 5820k@4.4. Incredible jump, but also thx to 16gb vs 4gb, sdd vs hdd, 3x faster dgpu and so forth. Anyway the cpu, per se, is at least 4x faster in benchmarks.

    Yes, I'm happier and happier that I didn't buy the 290x, at the end. Ok, I would have stayed within the 330€, but also I would have had a two years old card. Fiji looks like an exciting technology to me. Pity it's still on the aging 28nm process.

    Crisium, we have very similar machines. I have a 5820k running at 4.4ghz (1.26v), noctua d-15, 16gb@2666 (13-13-13-29-2) and the 850 1tb as well! So the fury will be fit in these specs! Cool!

    Yes, of course. That's a pity, though. With such a powerhouse encoding in h.265 would be a breeze. Who knows, perhaps they'll use opencl for the task...but I'm doubtful!

    Ok got it O:-) Now I'll be impatient to get it... Does it decode h.265 via hw? My camera records in h.265 and the haswell-e at 4.4ghz goes up to 33% usage to decode it!

    The cpu was at 4.4ghz (locked with speedstep off, monitored with cpu-z). Could you suggest other benchmarks? I downloaded sandra, but I have a hard time reading its results...it's a mess! Yes, the 64bit version of gb gives higher results compared to 32bit, if that's what you were asking.

    I'm a bit disappointed by the result I got in geekbench 3. CPU@4.4, speedstep disabled, memory at 2666Mhz, 13-13-13-29-2: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/3773388 What's wrong with my system? In their database I see similar systems scoring in the 5xxx-3xxxx range.

    I have my setup up and running. 5820k rock stable at 4.4ghz with 1.26v (I'm not interested in more for now) and memory at 2666mhz cas 14. Should I test the memory at lower cas? Do the othe parameters count a lot? They are at 15-15-35-n2 right now.
