According to Mindfactory (one of the biggest sellers in Germany) 6700K availability won't improve in the next weeks. They don't expect new CPUs until Dec 29th. That would be a real bummer. Prices are currently 400-500 EUR in Europe (~ 400-500 USD).
Here in Europe it's the opposite: It's almost impossible to buy a 6700K (except you're willing to buy 100 EUR more than the RSP) but the 6700 and so on are quite easy to get.
Because the 6700K is not available I'm considering buying a 5820K instead. Given that current-gen consoles (PS4, XB1) have 8-core CPUs multicore might become more important in the next years.
Does Broadwell-E feature any major improvements worth waiting 4 additional months?

Unfortunately they don't ship to Europe. And it's almost impossible to buy on in west Europe under 400 EUR, delivery is 2+ weeks.
Only three shops have it on stock but are selling from 416 EUR (~ 470 USD) to 460 EUR (522 USD). Thats a complete mess.

- Multi Core Enhancement has been locked too
- 6700K is not available
- 6700 has a weak turbo frequency
- 6600K has not HT
-...
Just read that the new Xeons (E3-1230 v5) won't be supported by B150/H170/Z170 chipsets because Intel locks them.
Any information why they do that and whether they might be enabled later or not?
