I recently purchased an OEM ATA 100 30 gig 7200rpm IBM hardrive and will be installing it this weekend. The IBM site lists two installation utilites that sound very much alike. The manual talks about using DriveGuide, but makes no mention of Disk Manager. Can someone explain the difference...
I had read about that version too. I looked everywhere but couldn't find one either, so I ended up getting the board without the ISA slot and a new external modem. The new cheapo ($45.00) Wisecom is alot faster than my old 3-Com ISA modem anyway. I am glad I couldn't find one now.
Maybe one of these links might help:

I prefer my 5.5 horsepower power wash and then to get the cards really dry, I use the back pack blower.----- Gotta hold the parts down with bricks so they don't blow away though. L.O.L.
Try pulling the stick of PC100. I had similar issues with 1 126 stick of PC100 & 1 126 stick of PC133. Benchmarks went WAY UP with 1 126 stick only of PC133 over i of each. If that works, swap the 100 for another stick of 133.
I copied this from a posting at http://www.hostclub.net some time ago. I do not know who to give the credit to for posting, I hope he doesn't mind.------------

Lapping is the polishing of the mating surfaces of your heatsink & cpu to eliminate highspots. Even though you can't see them with your naked eye, they exist. By using successively higher sandpaper grits you can get both surfaces almost as smooth as glass. The smoother the surface, the...
I noticed on the FIC site that the JE 438 BIOS upgrade has the comment that the higher processors require a sticker on the MOBO to comply:
JE438 4/6/00 1.2A
support AMD K6-2 550Mhz CPU
Notes
ONLY the Motherboard with certified sticker can support AMD CPU up to K6(2)-550 or K6(3)-500
Could this...
Start with 1 80mm in front blowing IN. Later you can add 1 or two in rear blowing OUT. Other case mods can be done once you have determined your needs based on running setup.
The site looks good to me. It should be especially helpfull to "newbies" as well as those more experienced at setting up a new board. BTW--- My 14" monitor at work shows the screenshots just fine.
The way I see it: Pay extra $$ for retail and get:1.) A warranty that is voided immediately upon Overclocking.2.) A heatsink and fan that is discarded because they are not adequate for Overclocking. The only way that retail gives any bang for the buck is if you don't overclock. What fun is that?
Mday is correct. I was looking at it yesterday and wondering how I might use it. Either will have to run its own seperate cord/switch or set up a 12v relay switch to power it up when I turn on the computer. I'm not sure yet if it would be worth the hassle.
The best thing I've found is filter pads cut from 3M ScotchBrite scrubbing pads. Sometimes it is marketed as "synthetic steel wool". It is cleanable/reusable and does not restrict airflow in the least.
It could very well be the excess grease. The object is to fill the low spots on the surfaces--- not to create a layer of material between them.
** Good Luck! **
I've had my K7T Pro 2-A running a T-Bird 800 @ 950mhz for about a week now with no ill effects. I haven't been able to get it to post past that yet, but it is rock stable and problem free so far. Nothing's perfect, especially complicated electronics. Perhaps he just got a bad one.
I got mine 3 days ago and have been having LOTS of fun. Dropped a T-bird 800 on it and have it OC'd to 950mhz so far. As soon as I post this, I'm going for 1000mhz. Glad I don't have to wait for X-Mas......Ha! Ha! But then again, I'm older than Santa Claus.:D
