i was going to wait for polaris/pascal, but now my gpu is dead - help me upgrade

+290...running any higher doesn't really do any good because the voltage starts dropping. I'm working with a couple of guys on getting a bios done that will eliminate the vdroop and allow me to use more voltage...ultimately, I'd like to see 1350 on the core.

How can graphic card memories overheat?

The cooler you keep it, the better it'll run. There are numerous examples of it. People going from air cooling on their Maxwell cards to watercooling, and being able to clock their memory higher. The cooler, the better. On Maxwell, Samsung memory was the best, and had a tendency to clock...

Fanless desktop options

Do you have a budget in mind? There are always water cooling options as well, that can be set up fanless. I have an X99 rig with 2 x 970s that I can run without the rad fans when at stock clocks, and still keep the delta t temps at less than 10c. Just gotta have enough radiator.....

Understanding ASIC

All things being equal between two cards, the one with the higher ASIC quality core will reach a specific clock at lower voltages than the lower ASIC quality core. It's just not very often that you'll find cards that are EXACTLY equal, even among cards that are exact same model numbers...

Why you should not use Afterburner/Precision to overclock Maxwell/Kepler

You can add voltage to the ACX 2.0 cards. They usually won't boost all the way up to 1.256v unless you enable kboost, so adding voltage on the slider will up it to the 1.256v that's set as max. You can also, add more voltage via the bios. I run my ACX 2.0 cards at 1.275v, because I haven't...
