Question Threadripper 2990WX cooling

Hi, with no intention to overclock, and obtaining the lowest cpu temp possible as the only goal, what cooler would you advice for a Threadripper 2990WX? The only solution I can't manage to adopt, is a custom loop. Thanks

Question 980 and 2080 in the same build + power supply

Threadripper 2 w 256gb ram?

I assume AMD, Intel etc. design their products with a little bit of insight into the near future - so I'd be surprised to know that since 32gb sticks were not available on TR4's launch day, but rather a few months later - then they are never going to be supported. I have seen 32gb sticks...

Threadripper 2 w 256gb ram?

According to AMD, Threadripper 2 CPUs support "up to 2tb ram". However, most of the TR4 motherboards I read the specs of, declare support for "up to 128gb ram". Are you aware of any TR4 motherboard that will support more than 128gb ram? If not, has anyone tried to install more than 128gb ram...

Plenty of info! Thanks again. I wasn't aware of those Super Micro boards, looks interesting. I never fiddle with overclocking and I do very little gaming - currently I have a Xeon W3690 on a Asus Rampage III, which served me nicely for about 5 years and never disappointed in regard to Turbo...

Thanks for the tip. However I prefer to go with unbuffered, it's... easier to recycle elsewhere, and actually I always had a lot more trouble with compatibility with ecc modules than with unbuffered ones. I think I'll go with 16gb x 8, I am reading all kind of horror stories about 32gb...

Thanks everyone for the advice I tend to have only one machine around, which I use both as workstation for computationally heavy tasks, and more casual usage. I had configs with server motherboards in the past (Intel or Super Micro, usually), and the lack of "joe average" chipset features...
