    Never base your decisions on people complaining on forums, it's the vocal minority most of the time, this is the best open world cars game to ever land on the pc, I'm playing it without any issues, sure the performance could be better but hopefully they can get that sorted out.

    GTX 1080 Overclocking.

    My MSI 1080 gaming x has two bios, the default one can get up to 121% power limit and the OC mode bios go to 109% power limit or something because by default it's already increased. OP probably has the card with an overclocked bios or has the card in OC mode.

    If my 1080 is idling at low clocks there's latency spikes with the latest drivers, doesn't happen when idle clocks are higher if I change my desktop from 120 to 144hz. I'll keep my desktop at 120hz, haven't notice any "lag" or audio problems so far.

    Got another MSI 1080 Gaming X, and happy to say this one has no coil whine whatsoever ! Overclocks to 2136mhz core with the fans on auto, memory starts artifacting over 5300mhz~ unlike the other one @5500mhz, not even mad since the noise was unbearable.. Edit: Weird, now overclocks memory fine...

    Why are people quick to dismiss the fact that there's a vulcan Doom patch for pascal in the works that should improve the performance ? Did you miss the AoS benchmarks where the 480 is only a few percent better in there vs the 1060 ? @ Op grab a 1060/1070 or aftermarket 480.

    DOOM updated with Vulkan support

    GTX 1080 with a i7 980x, vulcan removed any traces of cpu bottleneck, had around top 120 fps @ 1440 max settings, now goes up to 144fps (monitor limit)

    I went for the MSI 1080 Gaming X but it has buzz/coil whine.. fml Tried to run it overnight for a few days to see if it would go away but no dice, time to replace it with another one and pray it will be silent, shame too because it's stable at 2126mhz core with fans on auto.

    Nah, it's with g-sync on, I limit my fps to 144 and leave v-sync off to avoid any input lag. (specially in games like osu! or dota 2 where fps go way above 144)

    It shouldn't happen.. are you 100% sure gsync is enabled ? Check in the monitor osd settings if it's on. Also G-sync only works on the display port, not in the HDMI one.
