What a load of BS. You can easily bring a 1070 to it's knees on 1080p60hz. Jesus Christ where do these stupid arguments come from?
144hz you say? Tell me again how many games you actually play on that frame rate. None of the AAA games that's for sure unless you like to play with seriously...
My 8800GTS died in it's 3rd year. Then the GTS 250 also died in it's 3rd year. Only the 7850 lasted its entire useful life and I sold it after a good 4 years getting back a third of original purchase price. Quality PSU and adequate cooling was provided to all my cards.
Make sure you get a VA monitor. The days are over for IPS and TN. We have high refresh rate gaming oriented VA monitors now so no point buying IPS.

How does one justify one of these vs SLI 1080Ti? Surely $200 is not a matter of significance for this audience.
Now generally I favour 1 card over 2 but not when the actual difference between the single cards is so minute.

Anybody who buys this card....well it's their choice and their money. But I would like to point out that the 1170/2070 will most likely match it at 1/3 price so.....
Why should I care about HDR when we are a country mile away from a perfect SDR gaming screen? I find it very annoying the priorities of PC gamers sometimes.
I also have an IPS monitor which was actually a replacement for a previous one which had too much bleed but it wasn't much different so I gave up. It's combination of backlight bleed and IPS glow is a travesty lol.
So I can give a detailed opinion now.
The matte coating on this is the best I have seen yet on a monitor. There is literally no reason for something stronger than this. I can finally look at the sun in games without being greeted by a sea of grain. There is still some grain mind you but it's...
No.
The 1080Ti only has marginally worse price/performance than the second best card whereas the 1080 had terrible price/performance compared to the second best card. That makes a 1080Ti launch purchase a much better deal than 1080 launch purchase. Not everything is measured in pure numbers you...
lol I said at launch the price/performance was worse.
I don't think you know how it works. The absolute price/performance of the 1080 was worse at launch compared to 1080Ti. Now it's better yes didn't deny that but you are really not trying to get what everyone is saying as well so no point...
lol talk about cherry picking of the highest order. You are complaining about features that no gamer actually benefits from. All that matters is the performance number. The RX 480 has more features than a 390 but practically they are the same cards. The 1070 has more features than 980Ti but...
90% of GPU releases are just price cuts if you look at it like that.
Who said anything about price performance now? Compare it to when the 1080 was the best card in the world.
lol at all the people waiting for Vega. The 1080Ti is an incredible win.
Seems obvious to me x70 and x80Ti are the best upgrade cycles to follow. You know what's most amazing about the Ti? It actually doesn't have horrible price/performance despite being the fastest card in the world. That...
I just bought a BenQ GW2760HS and my <redacted> the image quality is <redacted> off the charts. Literally no backlight bleed and while the black uniformity isn't 100% it's actually not far away. Watching YouTube on this is marvelous.
Haven't had the chance to play games as it's not connected to...
Play Facebook games at Fullscreen and see what happens. I even installed Facebook Gameroom to eliminate browser overhead but that heavily lags as well. Now you may say it's "games" so what was I thinking but I would expect these sort of games to play fine at the default settings of a laptop.
I...
So I bought a Dell 4K laptop for my dad with Skylake i7 CPU, 8GB ram and SSD. You would think it would perform great in day to day tasks? Well not really. Chrome is a complete disaster and the general animations are just not as smooth as I'll expect.
But if I switch to 1080p everything becomes...
I know they used to be a big thing in the CRT days but I don't see much talk about them now?
The reason why I am asking is that in my country they seem to be very reasonably priced across alot of options. I just can't find professional reviews on them.
It isn't that a card SHOULD have high OC headroom it's all about max OC vs max OC and when we do it like that AMD cards fall further behind than what we typically see in benchmarks hence why they are not an accurate representation. The Fury cards in particular are the most maxed out reference...
Please check the last thread I made which was locked and I was suspended for "trolling". I absolutely fail to see the trolling part as I was sticking to facts and figures throughout. How can a moderator just so subjectively decide I am trolling? They didn't like the facts I provided is that the...
Most people talking on a forum about graphics cards don't overclock? Ya not buying that for a second.
Secondly even if we take out manual OC from the equation the majority buys after market cards which reflect the overclocking capability of a card. If a reference card can be overclocked 30% we...
They were released a year apart you know. So AMD beats out a 1 year old card? Wow that's some generation win.
I guess you didn't watch the video. The 2 cards were exactly the same when all the games were averaged.
Still waiting for concrete data on the performance degradation of the 780 and how much it really is.
The 390 and 970 are released too far apart to be declared a "generation win".
Yes I am aware of that.
7970 does not beat 680 I already showed that.
390 and 970 were released poles apart in terms of timeline so not a fair comparison.
Only a 7970 is a 7970. To try to use a newer generation product to fill in for an older generation product for a longevity comparison is completely illogical.
This thread has been reported as a troll thread, and I agree.

lol at people using game GPU charts. It was already shown how inaccurate they are since they lump the monetary FPS together instead of using the % for each game. Please come up with more credible data.
Any proof for this claim? We need a comparison like this to really ascertain that.
I mean it's so funny that the 7970 Ghz is hailed as a "legendary" card when in fact it is no better than the 680. Goes to show how much bias there is.
