6600GT Unlockable?

Coolbits is just a registry hack that reveals hidden tweaks with nVidia drivers. It's simple no hassle. I haven't tried RivaTuner for a long time but I believe it's more complicated options than Coolbits. I would suggest you try both and make the decision yourself. Just depends on your preference.

6600GT Unlockable?

You might be confusing your 6600GT with a 6800 non-ultra. The 6800 has the possibility of being "unlocked" with mixed results.

Power requirements for a 6800 NU

I have a Shuttle SFF system with 250Watt PSU. Running P4 3.0 @ 3.5, BFG 6800GT OC @ 390, Audigy 2, a Raptor, 2 other hard drives and also powering 3 fans (CPU, MB, 5.25 HD Fan). My system runs rock stable.

Sorry, but I am one of those slackers unfortunately. FORTUNATELY though, I decided on a career change so I will be finishing college, still graduating under computer science but after graduation, I plan to do something total unrelated to the computer science field.

$159 aluminum case, best case i've seen so far

I plan to buy an aluminum case soon and I plan to buy a lian-li one. I must say that being able to remove the motherboard tray and being able to remove the front panel very easily is very nice. And yes, two intake fans is also a must for me.

Best Possible Overclock without Unlocking... ?

I was able to get my Athlon 1900+ to overclock to 1.764ghz from 1.6ghz without changing the multiplier. I set my fsb to 147, my vcore to 1.825 and my ram voltage to 2.65. I could probably overclock even more but I was never a big fan of maxing out my vcore. I'm going to experiment though and see...

radeon 8500 w/64mb vs. 128mb

Who knows, the 4xAA 1600x1200 speed may be decent on geforce4 128mb cards? That probably won't be the case... geforce3 ti200 128mb cards show 20fps with those settings... so even if geforce4 128mb cards make a 10-20fps improvement it's still wouldn't be a setting I would play my games with. I...

Switching off Virtual Memory (Pagefile)

I have a 1 gb of DDR RAM and I'm running WinXp. I tried turning off the page file but windows still says that I do not have enough memory and will set my virtual memory higher even when I'm using only 150mb of physical RAM. So I guess windows still needs virtual memory. I set it at 512mb instead...

A little Christmas secret . . . gas pump at Costco

Oops, also forgot to add that yes... before gas companies put it additives, all gas are pretty much the same. It is the additives though that make the difference. I usually buy from chevron, mobil, texaco, and 76. I usually put arco last on my list no matter how cheap it is.

Rounded Ultra ATA-100 at Buy.com

Rounded cables aren't worth it in my opinion. And ATA-100 cables are stiff enough so you could fold them side ways so that they don't restrict airflow. Also, doesn't plastic hold heat longer as well? Maybe if you had a window in your pc, it might be worth it.

Anyone use the 60MM to 80MM adapters for heatsinks

I have an sk6 and just turn my 80mm fan 45 degrees to fit the brackets on the sk6. Depending on watch fan connections you have for your heatsink, it's best if you can just mount it directly on the heatsink.

Well if they don't work, just turn it around and plug them in. That's what I always do. I know that it does matter which way you connect them though. As for which ones and which way, I do not know. I don't think there's a possibility of frying the board if you connect them the wrong way???

Opinions on this FanBus from UmaxPC.com ?

The review pretty much sums it up. My friends have the fanbus and the rheobus. If you have large and fast fans and have the money, I would suggest that you go for the rheobus. The rheobus is $60 but it puts out 17w in each of their knobs whereas fanbus only has 6w per switch. So if you want to...

I don't recommend this CD-ROM even at $20. It's loud (sounds like a lawn mower) and reads cd's pretty badly. I think it's an afreey drive.
