What would you do with 6 -U320 146G HD's?

You have 80 pin hot-swap SCSI drives and the enclosure is for 68 pin SCSI drives. It's not going to work unless you have an adapter for each drive, or you get an enclosure for 80 pin drives.

Have you checked your motherboard for bulging capacitors or called Dell? I've had a number of Optiplex GX270 with problems that were more or less caused by bad capacitors. The issue with the Optiplex GX270 and bad capacitor is pretty well known.

No PS2 on my PC - is a PCI card mouse adapter available??

Dell charges an extra 6-8 dollars to get ps2 ports on the Optiplex GX280 in the form of a ps2 and serial port card. It plugs into a special connector on the motherboard and takes up a pci slot. It may look different depending on which form-factor Optiplex GX280 you get.

Who thinks Panasonic CD players are good?

I also have a CT570 and it's still running great even after 3 years. Originally, I was going to get a Sony but after testing it out in the store it was a no brainer for the price I paid. Just too bad they don't make them anymore.

Memory problems with Abit BX6rev2

I also have a Bx6 R2 mobo, I remember reading somewhere that the only way you can fill all four dimm slots is by using memory with ecc and parity. But then most BX based boards don't have more than 3 dimm slots.

Poll: Anyone else think Windows Media Player 7 blows?

I have to agree wmp7 sucks ass... installed it on my win2k and during the first few attempts to try to play a mpeg movie file it just stalled and blue screened my system. Eventually the problem fixed itself.. no clue how, but I still like 6.4 better.

Personally, I've used the "setup /NTLDR" several times and it worked for me using a Dell OEM Win 98 cd. Not sure if it case-sensitive for NTLDR, but I read that tip originally from Infoworld. But I notice other OEM full win 98 sometimes will let you install over an existing system...

I have a Diamond Express 56 external serial modem... and I don't have any problems with it, unless I forget to turn it on when I first boot up the computer using 2000. Otherwise, I have to reboot just to get the damn thing working. The funny thing is I never had a problem with turning the modem...

What's special about digital out (from cdrom)?

There are button settings for both analog and digital in the Liveware Program for my Sound Blaster Live. You can have analog only, digital only, or both together on. After that, it doesn't take long to tell the difference.
