I edited my OP for clarity. The idea behind the OP was to see if I could work with 16x M.2s with the hardware I had in mind. Obviously that isn't going to work. I was checking to see if I could somehow work with 64 total lanes (with the HBA & PCH lanes --- I wasn't clear on this) not 96...
aigomorla, I suspected that might happen, but wasn't sure. I came across that Asus Hyper card but figured if I ended up using the HBA, I wouldn't need it. I've always liked IcyDock products & figured that would fit the bill if the project went in that direction.
The bright side here is if I...
I've been reading up on HBAs and I'm considering the 9400-16i for an upcoming workstation build.
1st question: Since the 9400-16i is an x8 card, assume I install it in an x8 slot and assume I connect 4x PCIe NVMe x4 drives: Would that use 8 or 16 PCIe lanes from the CPU? I know these are...
Congrats to all who are trying to improve your health & the health of those around you. I don't smoke, but I have had close relatives that did. It's hard to quit. It's great to see some folks are trying!
I've never met anyone who can eat as many turkey sandwiches as I can in a given month. Heck, I don't think I've met anyone who eats as many as I do in a week. I've eaten an average of 8 - 10 turkey sandwiches per week dating back to, I'd say, 1997. If I had to guess on a record week, I'd say...
Nikon Cafe is a great forum for her to learn all about her D3400. She can also uncover suggestions for new lenses as she grows with the camera. David Busch, an author of several Nikon books, including the D3400 book in the second link, is an active member. Cool guy. Sent me a free D60 book.
So sorry to hear about your babygirl. Similar story. Raised my babygirl from a week old as a rescue after her mother took off with the rest of the litter. Fuzzball ran away last November after 9 years. I know how hard this is.
One of the reasons I won't support AMD's future GPU products is because they did the same thing with the 7970 release. I dealt with horrible drivers for 6 months with this card. This is what AMD does.
The one time I had an issue with an EVGA card, customer service made a warranty exception & took care of it, even though, technically, they didn't have to. This was back during the TR / KR warranty fiasco several years ago. My next GPU will be an EVGA product.
OP, I've been down the CF / SLI road & have had good & bad experiences. A lot of folks around these parts have reported problematic experiences. Until that tech improves drastically, I'd stick with a single card solution. I'm still running an OC'd 2500k paired with a 7970 & play @ 1080p.
I...
My 7970 still runs strong; I get 60+ FPS min. on Ultra & 80+ min. on High in BF4 @ 1080p (not sure I'd recommend the 7970 for a higher res. though - seems like the card's sweet spot is 1080p).
The beta is free & it showed up in Origin this morning. After launching the beta, a message appeared indicating the latest Crimson drivers are required for AMD cards.

Gatlin had an amazing start & ran a great race. Just wasn't enough, unfortunately. He pulled out like a freight train & had Bolt in his rear view. Bolt just has too much top end. I'm not a fan, but dude is blazing fast. Really wanted Gatlin to take the Gold.
I've watched bits & pieces. Men's basketball, track & field, and men's swimming have been fun to watch. Phelps is the Michael Jordan of swimming, which is cool. Looks like the men's volleyball team stayed home. I've seen college teams that were better.
With Rio being a cesspool, the green...
^This is 100% correct. You need Rideshare insurance on your personal vehicle. Farmers offers it here in CA. I suggest you get a quote ASAP & don't drive another mile with the Uber app on until you have Proof of Insurance with Rideshare coverage.
Ns1 is right; your current provider will...
Hate to say it, but depending on where you live, $3.60 per fare may be what you can expect as an average. If they send you info. on the Power Driver Bonus, you should look into it. It's really the only way to make any money.
If you plan on doing airport runs, check with Uber first. Ask...
Awesome bike man. I just might pick up a 1299S as my next bike as well, as a nice upgrade from my '05 1000RR. Pretty cool having Kyle Racing & Dave Moss in my backyard when the time comes to mastermind the Ohlins golden goodies.
My 7970 is old, but it's still kicking. Not too shabby in BF4. This will be my last AMD product for a while though. Never been excited about the drivers for this card.
I came here for the hot deals & tech tips. Fry's & MC used to have awesome deals back in the day. I remember when Fry's used to have the best HDD deals & MC was the king of in-store CPU deals.
