If you need Linux return the KyroII ASAP and get something else. If normal driver releases are any indication of there speed you wont see them until 2003.
There are quite a few sites that offer Kyro/KyroII overclocking tools. Search your favorite 3D-type site for one. Dont expect a high OC from it,maybe an extra 5-10 avg; higher OC'ers are lucky and getting better voltage to the core(tests have shown wide variance)YMMV. For extreem OC'ing there is...
And since I totaly forgot about this guys site give it a look http://www.avondell.com/ww2ol/main.html it's a tweak guide born from WWIIOL but it has just about every tweak and trick you can find. It comes from the dern game being so demanding but has born a great tweak site.
I'm one of the lucky ones running 768Mbs even with 7.114s ,I thinks its cause I have an older KT133 686a.
EDIT: Oh,No idea on the time of official release, there seems to be no hurry pulling these down so maybe there close or,just shutting guys like me up.
Also just for giggles goto www.pcpitstop.com and run the test, once in a while this thing actually finds something usefull to tweak and cuts back on trobleshooting if you get lucky. Going through the Bios with the cards install guide in your hand cant hurt.
On a totaly unrelated note since your...
Some of the 3D#2001 tests like the nature test only run on the GF3's so thats not a problem. I am still wondering about the Voodoo3 Files that may be left behind? Do you mean that you reformatted first(if so stop reading)or did you just uninstall them. There's a few registry entrys the Voodoo's...
Sorry never thought to ask resolution,I just assume that if you dont mention you mean default. Moving the NIC to another slot might help I have a 3Com NIC that insists on IRQ11,I even put it in anouther computer and it took IRQ11 on my PC.;)
Also with the DX8.0a check this link for turning off...
I've been using them for a few days, performance picked up a bit still has the texture problems but from what I understand there not the finals.....Or at least I hope not ;) There a little touchy for some people installing it seems but they stuck on the second try here. Remeber there's no support...
Well the first thing I always ask is have you installed the latest VIA 4in1s? Also the sharing verywell could be an issue but I'll let a GF/WinME owner stab at it.
Ohh and whats your directX version.....
Strange that a few sites got drivers to use against a new Radeon but then they dont get released?
I wonder just how those were optimized, not that I beleave in my heart NVidia is evil or anything.;)
The best Bios for the V5 AGP was the 116 IMHO,I'm not sure if the same is true or availible for the PCI but I'll just toss it out there. On the crazy side I thought the last set of WHLQ drivers were the best 104.1 I think was the number.....???
The one thing this card desparatly needs is adjustable gamma levels for desktop/d3d/gl,it's just too dark in default and not every monitor has a gamma adjustment.........and 3deep stinks.
Clevor, Though I wish they never went under Im sooo glad they didnt get the 6000 out the door. It prolly would have started at 600$ and I would have bought one just to have a vidcard with its own PSU. ;)
I know hes on Win2k so this may not help but you can change your res via regedit in Win98 HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG - Display - Settings. Its not a solution but its something to add to your TSTree or just a band-aid fix for now. Tweak it to a different res via regedit in safe mode then reboot.
I just replied to your other KII thread and if your getting the black nothing screen see if you cant get it to boot up into a higher res. My KII refuses to do 800x600 but its great @ 1024x768???
Well I hope that somehow the quality is much better on the high end GF2's having aa V5 with slow ram and great quality had me confused I guess. I've never been one to cry over FPS unless they dropped below 30 so ass u me d that a GF2MX would have the same quality as its bigger brothers but just...
Cool shortening the command line made it much easier,TY.
Avg FPS 121
Dvr pmx2hal.dll
vers 4.12.1.3114
res 1024x768/16
Hal ON
T&L OFF
Texture Compresion ON
MultiTexture 3 Layer
K7 825mhz
BTW Cooling improved Hercules Prophet4500 @185
You can get it here http://www.mitrax.de/files/Villagemark.zip . Im an idiot when it comes to command line execution so I have only watched it run for 20mins waiting for it to stop lol. My high low was 98/132 fps @1024x768/32bit as soon as I figure out the right way to run it for a bench I'll...
There all biased in one way or anouther I think. It all depends on what feature sets are tested and how. For my 2cents the lesser of all the evils seems to be 3D#2000 but game benches are still the best if they can be repeted flawlessly.
Mingon your useing an apple bench on oranges,Villagebench is biased to showing off what Kyro's will do. 3D#2k1 would be better for an Ultra and absolutly stinks for a Kyro. BTW which one is the Radeon biased tool or do they just do well in everything?;)
<< So, the KyroII looks like a good card. Would you recommend it as an upgrade for my Voodoo5-5500 AGP? >>
NO
I just killed my V5 and bought a KII,not an upgrade, more of a sidestep. Give that V5 anouther 6 months service at least,by then we should be talking KIII and should be a total...
I had both cards in house over the last week and its pretty much a tossup as I see it. I stuck with the KyroII but Im still second guessing the choice. To me the MX had lesser graphics quality but was faster. The KII had better quality but slightly slower. These are my opinions and prolly go...
Im not surprised just installing a KyroII would cause trouble the advice I have seen is Reformat before installing. It does help and makes a CDburner or extra drive a treat. Im not sold on it yet but its not bad for its price,Im leaning to a toss up on KyroII vs. GF2 MX400. Suposedly I can...
Well I took Teasy's bit of advice that I could actually take. Same price for a KryoII so it was an even exchange. I guess I was never cut out to be a GeForcer. :D
Yea I guess I was expecting a little closer to a parralel movement to a downgrade. I was short and needed something ASAP though. Well its enough to get by on I guess,Ill push it as hard as it will go meanwhile. Hope I dont blow it up ;) I really just need more detail at distance to be useable...
After some modification repair my V5agp died a quick but painfull death. :( With only my wallet and instant availibility as my guide I went out and got a GF2 MX400. What I expected was about the same card maybe a touch faster, what a shock I was in for. The color and detail are lacking in the...
Ive been trying everything I can think of to get RogerWilco to playback on my AC97onboard sound while using my PCI512 card to oprerate normaly with game sounds. I've read somewhere that whis can be done but Im not sure where. Has anyone done this is there some trick to it Im missing?
Ive tryed...
Ohh no the Palamino is going to have it too,get used to it.
Lets think this out my cpu is overheating and it drops its speed until I choose to shut it down and find the problem. Geez that is terrible I would much rather have it burn out or just shut down and loose any work I had.:Q
Well I lost all respect for Tom's a while back but thats anouther story.
At any rate for any 4 games to get me to spend over 300$(self imposed limit)on a video card the game needs to cut my skull open and send my brain sailing through the air. Closer to reality wont cut it,revolutionary, mind...
Yes I know it has the holes but they are not correctly spaced.
<< if you're worried about it being concaved when using the pins (i don't think it's anything to worry about), then just use the thermal tape that comes with it. >>
If the heatsink is arched up away from the GPU it IS something...
<< If the card has 2 holes, no sweat >>
Ive yet to see a card or motherboard where the holes line up correctly and forcing it will cause a convex space between the HS and GPU,just wanted to make sure I got that across.
First and most important thing is it is very easy to destroy a card this way. Removing old HS's can crack chip or otherwise damage the GPU. As for the new instalation the pins on Blorb seem to match up with nothing and any amount of force using the pins will cause the blorb to arch up away from...
For Athlon based units CPUCool blows them out of the water. Most of those progs have not changed since the K6 was a hot new CPU. If you havent tryed the latest version of CPUCool and are using one of these others to cool an Athlon I suggest you give it a try.
