Are there power meters that can do 220V? The kill-a-watts I've seen are all rated for max 125V despite being "international" versions. Preferably one that comes in the American plug type.

Pretty sure I've seen that method mentioned somewhere whilst reading (passing by) about trading and how to read the exchange charts... I actually bought already. And in 4-5 hours I'd be asleep (or I should be). lol. Trading: hindsight is 20/20 Do you think it will drop some more?

Also if you're a student... a job isn't really that practical (if your studies take up a lot of your time). But yeah, a hobby, not a job. I suppose there are people whose farms are of such scale that they can simply live off the earnings, but I suspect most of us aren't anywhere near that scale...

How does PoS work though? From the little I read, it sounds like everyone just gets a share of the mined coin based on how much they have over the total supply. Which seems weird... I doubt its correct, but I'm not sure how else to interpret it.

I think this is fixed in 6.0... Heard some talk about an issue like this in the forums. Not sure though. whattomine doesn't seem to have reported many changes. Maybe the rate you saw was with the rally ZEC had last night?

If you need the stability and can manage to grab a copy of an older insider build, its possible to set it to the normal 1607 redstone build by turning off insider updates temporarily (before it manages to download/install the updates) and then opting out of insider once 1607 is installed...

If its windows 10 licenses you lack, running an Insider build (at least a somewhat stable build) or updating to 1607 build and just not "activating" seems to work alright. So far the desktop I did that on is not giving me any problems. If its the updates... the group policy edit for updates...

Tax? I think its 15$ or something. Or it depends on where you buy it from. I don't live in the US and don't really understand the tax systems. (Where I live all the prices are tax inclusive) Still, that is about half the cost of the same card where I live... the prices are ridiculous here, but...

RX 480s at 155$... where is this? :O On the 390X I have I get about 30MH/s with ETH and about 50-51 MH/s on ZEC. I think I must be missing something, since you're doing more than double. Unless its the CPU power that helps make up the difference In any case, it may be the power charges that...

Either way, Profits have increased. For ETH its gone from ~7.5GH to 4, which comes out to maybe 50% more profit. The game might change if there's dual mining software though... depending on what rates one gets each coin. On the other hand, the initial rates of ZEC made it seem like a good idea...

too late to the party again, it seems... On Claymore ZEC, I'm seeing much lower readings from VDDC In/Out (than ETH) which is odd, because what I know is that those readings are only for the GPU (not the memory). At the same time, memory controller loads are down to low 30%, sometimes dropping...

What's with the price of ETH? Just noticed its dipped below 11$ now and it seems the network hashrate has gone down a bit (etherchain.org stats, was at 7.5k GHs a few days ago and its at 6.7k now) Was there an announcement of some sort? The last I heard of was geth releasing fixes and a fork...

Is the 40W for memory a constant (for, say, 4GB) or does it matter what the clocks on the memory are? (Trying to estimate power draw) These numbers though... Do GPUs have Core steppings and the like in the same way that CPUs do? Perhaps there's a way to confirm those mature process rumors.

noob question: why are risers used? I keep seeing them but I don't quite understand what they're for. Is it just so that you can have the GPU elsewhere in better cooling? Or does this have to do with PCIe lanes available and so on?

I'm new to mining, though I've wanted for quite some time to get into it. Is mining eth still profitable right now? Or perhaps other coin. I'm lined up to get a 390X for about $250 and was thinking I might try mining with it. Then I saw a 290 on sale for about $140 and thought I might pick it up...
