    Highest RAC Computers on TeAm AnandTech - Rosetta@Home

    A q6600 @ 2.8 GHz (310x9) stock volts on a DFI P965-S Dark with 2 Gb @ 4-4-4-12. This air cooled with a Thermalright Ultra 120. I can't get any higher, so I think I might have to go back to water cooling.

    New mobo won't post. . . WAS: Rosetta cruncher died over the weekend - looking for nforce2 mobo.

    I also have 2 Abit NF7-S mobos I don't use anymore. I need to stop being lazy and put us a FS/trade tread for the TeAm.

    OT: Well kinda, but affects my R@H output

    In your BIOS, make sure K8 Cool And Quiet is disabled if your cpu fan is pluged into the mobo. This will make the cpu fan spin at 100%. Check for a newer BIOS. The stock HSF for the 3800+ is not good enough for a duel core cpu. I suggest an aftermarket HSF. My 3800+ with the stock HSF...

    Watch out for running high vdimm on dual core cpus. People are killing their cpus with high vdimm (3.1 and up). The Opteron 165/170's are the best deal out right now.

    To anyone considering an x2, look at the Opteron 165 / 170. The Opterons are cheaper, 2mb L2, and oc just as well if not better then the x2?s. I got a poor stepping 170 that did 2.4 at stock vcore. Did 2.8 prime stable x2, and I haven?t tried higher. I?ve been running at 2.6 for a few weeks...
