How to disable onboard sound

One more question, and this is to satisfy my curiosity. In the Bios the auio codect shows three options; AUTO, ENABLE and DISABLE. What does AUTO actually does? Auto is de default setting. I jus disabled it to avoid any conflict.

I did look in the Device Manager but I was not sure what to disable since I saw a bunch of entries of "Legacy Audio" and something like codec.

How do I disable the onboard sound from the Asus K8N-E Deluxe? I want to install the Audigy 2 Platinum on this MB but I don't see the on board sound in the BIOS set up to disable it.

Vid card cooling fan dying

AMD Throughbred vs. Thorton

Thanks "Whatever". I also think that the Throughbred is faster than the Barton. I have a Barton 2500+ and is rated at 1.83 Ghz while the Throughbred 2400+ is rated at 1.93. Any reason why do you recomend the Abit over the Asus. I have five computers (2 belongs to me and 3 to my kids)...

Can anyone tell what is the difference between the AMD Throughbred and the Thorton. Also which one is the fastest AMD CPU other than the 64. I will like to upgrade my computer in order to do video editing.

Thorton vs Thoroughbred

What is the difference beween the AMD Thoroughbread and the Thorton? I serched the forum but was not able to find an answer. Also, which one is the fastest AMD CPU other than a 64? The Barton looks like is slower thant the Thorton or Thoroughbread.

case with a7n8x deluxe?

The A7N8X basic and deluxe, come with a back plate to replace the one in the case. Just snap out the one in the case and snap in the one that came with the mother board. I jus puchased the A7N8X non-deluxe and I am in the process to install it.
