Great News from Anand Forum
"In anands benchs For this ali chipset are alot slower than any others on the net like 30 fps in quake 3 now that's quite a bit of difference the only explanation for this is these benchmarks actually come from an article ANANDTECH released on the ali magik on...
That's great !
Please look my posts here Anand Forum on AMD760 killer
What I said is true, it's was just a matter of bios immaturity and rev. too!
Sorry Anand...
May I add my opinion : The KT133A should be seen like an intermediate step to the new AMD processors (supporting the FSB of 266 Mhz) that will benefit more than actual ones from DDR technology.
I shouldn't see the KT133A like an AMD760 killer, but as an evolution toward it, obviously projecting...
Here is another enthusiastic review from ClubOverclocker Club Overclocker review
Follows an abstract:
Rating The Iwill KA266-R, even as a beta test sample, yields the highest memory benchmarks we've seen on any AMD system. Unbelievable! The break-neck speed of the Thunderbird 1GHz CPU running...
In conclusion I think that the move to DDR technology alleviates the memory bottleneck that, at present is the main limiting factor in system performance.
The current memory technology which is an evolution of the standard SDRAM will provide sufficient bandwidth to cover CPUs up to a processor...
Reply to Nox:

Here is an abstract :
"After quite a bit of work I have posted my review of the ALi MAGiK 1 chipset and the Iwill KA266R. I must say that ALi and Iwill...
reply for Nox:
The mainboards that support both memory types (SDR and DDR) do exist, so keep you better informed going here http://www.socketa.com/cgi-bin/search_form.pl:
Then select for the memory search both SDR and DDR, for your information these are some of the mainboards that I retrieved...
These are some mainboards that supports both SDR and DDR and 266 Mhz:
Arima
KUAIA
ALi MAGiK 1
ATX
Chaintech
A7A266
ALi MAGiK 1
ATX
PC Chips
M816
ALi MAGiK 1
micro ATX
Go to http://www.socketa.com/cgi-bin/search_form.pl for more... ;)
Go for mainboards supporting FSB at 266 Mhz and BOTH memory types (SDR and DDR).
I'm pretty sure this is the more flexible solution right now. ;)
Greetings
I think the best option is to buy a mainboard that supports FSB of 266 Mhz AND both memory types (SDR and DDR) ,mounting on it SDR just waiting for DDR to lower the prices ;)
